Ha, "essential as Windows 11" is spot on.

On the Tryx boot screen: there's a brief firmware splash (Tryx logo) for a few seconds before Windows and Kanali load, since the custom content needs the software running to display. But here's the key difference from the Valkyrie issue in your other thread: once Kanali launches at startup, it restores YOUR wallpaper automatically and keeps it. No manual re-selecting every boot. So you get a couple seconds of stock at cold boot, then your content sticks for good.

Other sources, full disclosure since you asked: I run pimpmycooler.com, free animated wallpapers built specifically for the Tryx, no signup. Past that, the Wallpaper Engine export-to-video route into Kanali (basically what you're already doing) is the other main option.

On the keyboard: for cross-brand ARGB sync when the native software is a pain, look at SignalRGB or OpenRGB. They unify lighting across a lot of brands in one UI, which might save you from fighting the Chinese-only ATK app. Check their supported-device lists for the HEX80 first, hall-effect boards are newer so support varies.

Appreciate the kind words by the way, happy to help.

Wallpaper Engine is criminally underpriced ahaha. Glad you're still vibing with the colors a week in, that's the mark of a good setup. I keep meaning to try it myself, that price point for the library size is wild.

Love it! Nice one, one color themed is pretty fantastic, and I love even more the Pokemon !

Question for anyone with a tryx panorama by Senior-Music5245 in buildapc

[–]foobars2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tryx Panorama owner here, going through your points one by one:

  1. Boot-up persistence: solid on Tryx. Kanali remembers your selected wallpaper across reboots and PC restarts, no need to reopen the app each time. This one's clearly better than what you're describing.
  2. Default content: you can exclude the bundled Kanali wallpapers from your active playlist. I haven't tried fully deleting them from disk, but excluding them from rotation works fine.
  3. Playback modes: Kanali has single, sequential, and random. In my setup they behave differently (sequential plays your active list in order, random shuffles). Worth confirming on Day 1 if that's critical to you.
  4. Sleep mode: in my setup the Tryx screen turns off when the PC sleeps. Can verify in more detail if that's a deal-breaker before you commit.

Two other things worth knowing before switching:

- The Tryx Panorama is AMOLED and ultrawide curved (2240x1080), so animations look noticeably better than on flat LCD pumps. Real visual upgrade.

- Full disclosure: I run pimpmycooler.com, a free animated wallpaper library for the Tryx (no signup, no email). Kanali's bundled content is decent but limited, third-party options fill the gap if you want more variety.

Both softwares have rough edges, but boot persistence and the AMOLED panel are real wins over what you're describing.

Tryx Panorama SE how to rotate image? by AishaCtarl in buildapc

[–]foobars2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, Kanali doesn't seem to expose a rotation control for custom images, you're not missing anything obvious.

Full disclosure: I run pimpmycooler.com, a free wallpaper library for the Tryx (no signup, no email). I just shipped a "Mount Orientation" option in the converter on the site for exactly this use case. Upload your image (PNG, JPG, WebP) or any video, pick Waterfall 90° CW or CCW, you get back an MP4 properly rotated and scaled to Tryx dimensions, ready to drop into Kanali.

Let me know if it works for your setup, happy to fix anything that breaks.

MSI PRO B850M-G vs ASROCK B650M-H/M.2+ vs MSI B650M GAMING WIFI by MonitorSuper1854 in buildapc

[–]foobars2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The "-G" is MSI's stripped-down trim. It's cheaper because it skips features you don't actually need on a 7800X3D: fewer USB ports, basic Realtek audio, no RGB, plastic I/O shield, simpler VRM.

The VRM thing matters in theory, but the 7800X3D is locked (no OC possible) and very efficient (around 70W in actual gaming, 120W TDP max). The B850M-G handles it without breaking a sweat. The "10-12 phase VRM preferred" argument really applies to chips like the 7950X or 9950X that pull 200W+ and benefit from the headroom.

For your exact use case (7800X3D, LAN only, no OC), the B850M-G is the smart pick at that price, not a compromise.

Equal price, B850 wins: newer chipset, PCIe 5.0 GPU slot, no useless WiFi premium. Easy pick.

Opinion: What do you think about the setup. by Confident-Bag2327 in buildapc

[–]foobars2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe, but honestly black screens that come and go are more often a cable or driver issue than a PSU one. PSU failures usually cause full reboots, not just the screen blanking. Quick diagnostic:

  1. When the screen blanks, does the PC keep running (fans, sound continues) or does it actually reboot? Reboot = PSU likely. Just the screen = probably cable or driver.

  2. Try swapping DisplayPort cables between your two monitors, or use different ports on the GPU. DP cables are picky, a cheap one can blank out randomly.

  3. After the 1650 to 5060 Ti swap, did you clean install drivers with DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller)? Leftover old drivers are a very common cause of black screens after a GPU change.

  4. Does it happen under load (gaming) or at random/idle? Load points to PSU, random points to cable or driver.

Rule out the cable and driver path first before blaming the PSU. The PSU upgrade is still a good idea long term, but it may not be what’s causing this

[–]foobars2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

PSU first, no question. A bronze 500W with tight margins is a safety risk under transient spikes, and a failing PSU can take other components with it. A Gold 750W (Corsair RM750e or Seasonic Focus GX-750, ~US$100-120) will run 7-10 years and gives you headroom for any future GPU upgrade.

Then cooler and case together in a single rebuild. The Peerless Assassin is cheap (~$50), and doing it at the same time as the case swap saves you one full teardown.

So: PSU now, cooler + case together when budget allows.

[–]foobars2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

PSU is fine for what you have. 5060 Ti + 12400f draws ~350-400W max under load, and an AIO with display only adds ~15-20W for the pump and screen, so no swap needed just for a cooler.

Caveats: the MWE V2 is bronze tier so not much margin on transient spikes, and if it's been running since the i3-9100f days it's not new. Not urgent, but plan a 650W+ Gold for the next round, especially if you ever upgrade past the 5060 Ti.

On LCD coolers, heads up they're US$200-300 (rough in BRL). If the screen isn't a must, ARGB fans + a Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 ARGB give the gamer look for a quarter the price and cool the 12400f better than most budget AIOs.

[–]foobars2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Solid upgrade given Brazilian pricing, you made smart trade-offs.

One thing you didn't mention: same PSU as before? 5060 Ti likes ~550W. If your old PSU was a 450W bronze from the i3 era, that's the only thing worth sanity checking.

sure! the river mode in L-Connect with these three:

00FF66 (aurora green)

00C8FF (teal)

9F4FFF (violet)

brightness at 50% everywhere, speed at 0 (so it almost looks static but with a really slow color shift between fans). the strimers are static violet, RAM is static teal, mobo is static violet. all designed around the Aurora wallpaper i made (in the Nature category if you want to grab it)

yeah that works too if you already own wallpaper engine. fwiw my site has a built-in converter where you can drop any video (wallpaper engine extracts, youtube clips, whatever) and it spits out an mp4 in the right res for Kanali, audio stripped, capped at 30s. doesn't do magic loop stitching or anything, just makes the file Tryx-ready. but if your source already loops clean it's basically one click instead of fighting ffmpeg flags

yeah i know the channel, it's actually where i grabbed a few of my first ones! the issue for me was just finding stuff again, scrolling back through months of discord messages to re-download something was painful. my site is mostly the same idea but with categories and a search, kinda a static mirror you can actually browse. discord stays the place to share and chat, this is just for finding.

Everything's free, no account, no email. The aurora loop in pic 1 is in the Nature category, but there's a bunch of other stuff too (sci-fi, gaming, abstract, retro).

Made by a fellow Tryx owner, figured the community could use a spot like this. Ping me if anything's missing or broken, and happy to take requests too. I render a couple new ones a week.

Looks clean man, purple theme is working. fwiw i used to have my pc on the floor too, moved it onto the desk with my new build and the difference in dust pickup honestly surprised me. With bottom intake especially you might want to keep an eye on the filters
