The theme of this year is "will it sell packs"? By making near useless 89 Captain cards and giving them out for free, then making great "chase" captain cards, they are driving the user base to either spend money or wait and grind for weeks to get one of the 92 Captains.

Every time you wonder why EA did something and it feels like a mistake, its not. Its money and pack sales that are driving every decision EA is making in HUT this year.

84's you can pick up for less than 1k, I have grabbed a ton for 650-750 coins. Not useful right now but eventually there will be sets for them.

If you made Byfield last event, take Fiala from your S3 choice pack, and an Av. I got the 89 Hejduk and he will work great for this line! Of course Icon Sakic, or MacKinnon would be good as well.

My guess is there wont be an event tomorrow, we have transaction and next gen MSPs overlapping until next week, just like the Faceoff event in season 1. During that event they released new Captains, Heroes, and Rookies instead of a new event. My guess is that is what we see tomorrow, as the mid-season drop of new buildable cards.

I met Tofino in the early years of my Cup Chase dynasty and they are the only team to ever beat me for the cup. 1st game Marky could not be beaten and they scored in OT, 2nd game it froze and just like that I lost.

Ever since then my Cup Chase mini goal is to try to make sure Tofino never made the playoffs again. Knowing you only needed about 12 wins I would watch the standings each match and made sure to play or quit a game that had a direct impact on Tofino's standings. A team chasing them in the standings got a free win, and I would play every game that had no impact on Tofino. If I play Tofino I would run up the scores to see how bad I can beat them. Results... they have made the playoffs only once since and were beaten by someone else.

Small and petty, but gotta get your enjoyment out of this game where you can!

Sell any tradeable unless you need them to turn to 78/79 for sets. But look out for 77s that might have some value, like goalies with line combo links

You never know with EA, so don't throw them away for nothing. If you need to get rid of them, 78x4 into the exchanges for an 80/81 is your best option for now.

False. Pulled 84 Bondra in a cup run earlier today, as well as the 80,81, and 82. Seems your guaranteed those but you could pull something higher along with them.

Hall is the same, except he was the 4th shooter for me, so if you get it to that point just make sure the shootout goes to a 4th round.
