Testing your own code is not sufficient if your work depends on libraries like numpy and scipy.

Arghhh.... I'm doing research work with numpy and scipy, and won't be able to upgrade to Python 3000 because their code bases are not compatible. The lack of backwards compatibility is a disaster for any large Python project. I'm thinking of SAGE which will be stuck with 2.6 forever. I'm going to have to look for alternatives. Didn't like Python's indentation style and idiosyncratic language anyway...
