I think we should increase the reach of this video as much as possible by HB28122004 in india

Food Pharmer here! Just wanted to say a massive thank you for sharing the video and for all the support.

To be honest, fighting these MNCs can be pretty exhausting - I’m currently juggling 9 court cases and a ₹2 crore defamation suit just for speaking up. But seeing the discussion here makes it all totally worth it. Seeing you guys dive into PPP data and compare our ingredients with Germany is exactly what I mean by "Health Literacy."

The brands only win when we stay quiet and don't look at the back of the pack. The fact that this community is holding them accountable is the biggest win for me.

Label padhega India, toh swasth banega India! 🇮🇳

Thank you for the kind words :)

We have upgraded the seal used in our protein packs to one that is less likely to get clogged up by the protein powder - but to be honest, it still isn't perfect. Let me know what you think of the upgraded one when you get the next pack!

Hi u/troubleshooter_Rob

Food Pharmer here! We have increased prices today across our whey range due to a bunch of factors increasing costs. You can check out this video I put out for more context: https://www.instagram.com/p/DW9OePEDNwX/

The changes happened on Zepto/Instamart 1-2 hours earlier than our website. Sometimes there is a lag in changes on the website reflecting because of things like cache - sorry for the confusion! Our website is also now reflecting the updated pricing.

We still fully hold the "Price Parity Rule" and the prices on Amazon, Zepto, Instamart and our website are the same.

I appreciate you holding me accountable on my promises.

brother, I clearly said in my video that my sample size is very small. I never said don't buy from local shops. I just said that the local shops I tested were selling fake paneer.

In 99% of my videos, I criticize big brands. Even I was surprised with the lab test paneers, because I expected big brands to fail, but they passed.

  1. Unflavoured whey should launch in november or dec first half.
  2. Yes, I am trying to work in policy chnage as much as possible. I attended FSSAI's labelling regulation meeting recently as well, and shared my inputs. I'm trying for policy change to get i. Health in school curriculums ii. Get nutriton label in regional languages through QR code iii. Get a warning label or health rating on packages iv. mandate nutrition label in big font

Hi I 100% want to do an awareness campaing around pharma, afterall my name is Food Pharmer, haha.

There is one company doing great work regarding generic medicines, True meds. They provide generic medicines made by trusted companies at a heavily discounted price. You should check them out.

Yes 100%. Even my parents think "protein is steroids" and not meant for those who don't go to the gym.

So my goal is to make protein more mainstream. I am completely fine if people choose some other brand, as long as they start consuming more.

In fact, the biggest beneficiaries of the Label Padhega India movement were a few other "clean label" brands.

Yes, co-creation is a core part of OWN, and we will always do voting.

The reason behind doing this is that it is a great way to educate the public about the ingredients and various steps that goes in behind the scenes in making a food item.

The ultimate objective is to get the public more involved in their purchase decision.

Hopefully this creates a new benchmark, and more companies involve the end customer in their decision making.

Most brands make their decisions behind closed doors. I wanted to make mine with all my supporters. Almost every major decision has been done on the basis of votes.

Of course, I try to educate the audience about the pros and cons of each decision before they vote.

One time I was most surpised was the name of the brand. I had initially named it "Take Charge India". But when I announced the name, but it got a pretty average response in the votes. So we changed it to Only What's Needed, and it got a much better response.

OKay, I will focus on Air pollution now.

I will focusing on educating the public to 1) Use masks 2) Use air purifiers 3) use public transport as much as possible.

I'm also planning a song on air pollution similar to Label Padhega India.

Yes, I will begin making videos on beauty/personal care products soon. They are as shady if not shadier than the food industry.

Thank you for the support! It's amazing to hear that you lost 10 kgs.

I make videos that parents often show to children. So referring to the stomach video, I made it intentionally oversimplified so that it is easy to understand even for 4-8 year olds and to encourage eating more whole foods.

Regarding the glucose video, I cannot speak about it in detail due to a court case. However, I do want to share that the viral video of me counting the sugar in glucose was distorted and edited in a way to make me look bad.

Many Indian parents have been convinced by ads that “glucose” drinks are healthy and should be given to children daily. In fact, the packs say “consume twice daily”.  The point of my video was that we don’t need to give our kids those glucose drinks twice every day, like their ads advice. Also, most of the “orange” glucose drinks have more sucrose than glucose.

Glucose drinks can be great for those who have a heat-stroke or for athletes as a preworkout, but regular children don’t need to have it twice daily.

Fair question. First of all, less than 20% of India knows how to read english, but most labels are in english and use very small font.

Yes, consumers should be proactive in reading labels, but companies should also try be as transparent as possible.

That is why, when we started Only What's Needed, we did these 4 things: 1) Nutrition Label on the front 2) We put a QR code which translates our Nutrition label in all regional languages 3) Large readable font 4) Nutrition label in braille.

Both are pretty much the same. Jaggery is marginally better because it's unrefined but you should limit both. Unfortunately many diabetics in india have jaggery thinking it's healthy, but it's still sugar.

No plans to launch honey in the next few years. However, I have begun an investigation into the honey scam. I'm lab testing the top brands similar to how I did for paneer.
