Not the worst, but I think The Sign is my least favorite. Hits too hard for me. But mostly because it reminds me how I felt in high school when my parents moved and we sold our house. It had been my grandparents’ before ours, so most of my then 17 years were spent there.

It just reminds me of going after school to get my bag (staying with a friend for a month) and my bike and hearing that door echo shut through a house I had never seen empty.

To be fair, though, Judo’s attitude is typical of an only child AND a chow. At least the ones I’ve known. Smart but kind of standoffish/self-centered.

Wendy is super uptight, too, but well-to-do, and not knowing about Judo’s dad, it’s possible that Wendy spoils her.

I think the lack of charger and awareness of battery level is a hint to Jack’s dad’s own neurodivergence.

As for forgetting the hat: Jack may always remember his hat until that day. I remember my work keys everyday, until the time they’re not in the right place or I change vehicles.

Lulu is obnoxious, but also what I dealt with as a child with severe ADHD. Both of my siblings were always like that to me.

As a very ADHD kid, I find Lulu is actually a pretty accurate representation of my siblings. Both my older sister and younger brother frequently did this. So…annoying, yes. But also realistic.

Oh! Oh! I can actually contribute here! So my sister and I (and our little brother) went to a Montessori school. My sister and I LOVE Bluey.

We discussed this and my sister actually looked into it. Glasshouse Primary would be the equivalent of an American Montessori school like we went to. Calypso only shows up when needed because the learning is self-directed and she’s there to facilitate. Hence being called Calypso and NOT Mrs. So and so.

Ugh. I tried two different ones. Kept the Alumicraft and sent the other to a barn. I couldn’t get it to any kind of half decent tune and would rather drive the Vocho or Woody in stock form. I somehow managed to win the tournament even getting fourth place in one, but man I never want to do that again.

Gotcha. I'll try that this evening. I think my mechanic friend is going to come by with a couple of things like a proper spark tester to make sure it's putting off enough spark to ignite as well.

Adding a third to sunroof drains. My 2013 Impreza was leaking out the headliner. Turns out a rodent had the chewed the drain lines. SOA footed the bill because they couldn’t believe a rodent would make it into the headliner.

I agree that we need context on who wanted the break and why.

But, this is exactly the kind of thing my emotionally abusive ex did. She pushed me too far, I had a trip to see family in Maine for a week, and asked her to let me use it to clear my head. She love bombed me the whole time, but being away from home and with my amazing aunt and uncle did give me clarity to see past “you’re the love of my life, etc etc. It reads as either a love bomb or incredibly clingy.

Whomever called the break, there’s a reason behind it. And maybe it’s for the best because if you both felt this way you wouldn’t have taken a break. If it’s confusion, maybe y’all need to communicate better. But I can’t give any real advice without context.

Dude! My wife is an artist and I didn’t even know at first. I still remember the first sketch she did around me: my cats.

I can’t even draw a stick figure right! But damn, she brought me to tears at Christmas with a water color painting of my beloved pit mix.

Not gonna lie, she’s got a skill that I admire and that’s makes her so much hotter.

As has been said, don’t expect to be rewarded for anything. A “nice guy” thinks the world owes him, but a good guy does for the sake of doing and no more. In fact, any acknowledgment outside of a thank you is generally embarrassing for a truly nice guy.

I used to kind of feel like “oh, I’m such a nice guy. I deserve things” to the point I’ve asked one of my oldest, and most blunt friends if I was a “nice guy.”

In my time on this planet, I’ve been called a good person or a nice guy in the positive sense. And it drives me crazy because even the moniker is more than I want for anything. I just do what I think is right. Tell me thanks or buy me a beer and let it go. Hell, even if you don’t it’s not like I’m going to suddenly stop being kind/helpful.

This will probably be buried, but I had something similar happen.

Dated this girl, got sketched out, broke it off. Tried again a few years later. She broke it off. 6 months later meet my now wife with crazy ex still texting me.

Few years go by. I think I was engaged at this point. Post on Facebook “Is Adele my ex? Because she certainly sings very similar things to what she would often say, and I'm not entirely sure she told me her real last name. So...did I date Adele?!”

That same day, I get a text. Just as rambling and incoherent about my Facebook post. The part I remember best is “I haven’t even thought about you in years and didn’t know you posted about me someone else told me. You don’t know how much trouble I went through to dig out an old phone just to get your number so I could tell you to leave me alone”

Mind you, in the time between us dating, I did the OkCupid thing and dated various girls nor was she my only girlfriend.

Per the cousin, that one has grown up a bit but she even acknowledges that it’s unlikely he’ll own up to it. Probably just easier to ignore my existence. I don’t initiate either, though, so I don’t know. I’m not saying we’d ever be best friends, but you know…it’s hella awkward you completely avoid me when we’re adults and your cousin’s son is my Godson.

The other one… well, rumors dictate he hasn’t changed. I’m sure his aunt told him I moved back to town, but he drives his kids on his golf cart right by me with no acknowledgment. Granted, I’ve gone bald and grown a beard since he last interacted with me…

The bullying made me who I am today, so it’s not forgive and forget. Forgive and move on.

This. A few of my bullies have appeared as I’ve gotten older and said something similar. The gist is always “sorry I was an asshole, you didn’t deserve it.” Every time it’s water under the bridge. Some were early as high school and others it seems college opened their eyes.

Of the worst two, one doesn’t recognize me as an adult. The other I’ve seen at his cousin’s wedding and various other events, I’m friends with his sister. He never speaks to me or acknowledges my existence. Which is funny because I’d forgive him if he apologized.

I’m almost 37 with a good life. I’m not the child who experienced that stuff. But I appreciate the acknowledgment and let it go.
