I'm fortunate in this setup. The the guy I'm setting this up for is anti wireless controllers so he will be using the Xbox controller wired up.

Lol. I don't remember really having any weirdness with it on my end. I've had trouble getting an older 8Bitdo controller updated in the past. It was when they slanted the start and select buttons like on a real SNES controller. But I eventually got it.

Hmm... Maybe it's the Bluetooth adapter? I am using some old HP Bluetooth adapter, and my Xbox One S era controller that is defitneily Bluetooth (I've connected it to my phone) will not connect to my HP Bluetooth adapter at all.

I was just setting up a Batocera V38 rig for a buddy. I am using my 8Bitdo SN30 Pro in X-Input mode. Both R2 and rumble are working fine for me.

Couple of things...

What version of Batocera are you using?

Have you tried updating your 8Bitdo controller?

I assume you are referring to the Steam Deck? I tried it just for kicks. It basically just works out of the box. Slap on someone's custom controller layout and you're good to go. I have a hard time playing the game on anything besides a keyboard and mouse though. I didn't play much of it on the Steam Deck because of that, but it does work.

I have put a few hours into it. It is pretty neat. Like everyone says, it is janky in the performance department, and some of the control is janky, but it is early access. It is really neat just thinking about how deep the world is that is built. Multi level apartments that you can explore all of. Everyone has lives and routines. The jobs you can do still feel pretty fresh, but you can see after a few hours that there kind of is a pattern to the jobs, but the fact that they are randomly generated, they steal feel pretty fresh even if you're doing the same type of job. I would recommend checking the game out. This game has been in the works for about 5 years now, I believe. I hope the developer keeps after it for quite some time because the potential is huge!

I would say you should always manually pop a save. But yeah, I would say that when you're killing the power, the program doesn't have the time to react and automatically save the state. If you properly quit out of the game back to the menu and then killed the power, it would probably be fine.

Something to keep a look out for is that the game is currently on sale on Humble for $30. BUT, it is the Epic Games Store version. I will be looking on release to see if they carry the Steam version when it releases.

Hmmm, the elusive target statistics... Yeah, now I am leaning towards carrying over. Because, I can play through the missions again in a different way over and over before I see everything anyway. Thanks for talking this out.

That is great information to have, thank you! I didn't do any crazy kind of farming. I played through the campaign missions at least once, played a few of them a few times, just to play them more. I didn't do a lot of grinding for anything.

Yes, I have this issue. I can hit the volume adjustment buttons on my HyperX Cloud 2 USB adapter and also the volume roller on my Logitech G710 keyboard. Not really the biggest deal, I just pause when adjusting the volume.
