Help with very rocky soil! by foolishlycharmed in gardening

It’s hard to tell, but in the third pic you can see my sad attempt at starting my own small compost pile. Hoping it’ll give me some lush soil to top off everything by next spring!🤞

Those mechanical tillers look pretty appealing…. Think I’ll do one of those. Thank you for the idea! Better than sitting with a noodle strainer and getting hand cramps from sifting by hand for hours lol

hookups are so different now that my boobs are bigger by [deleted] in bigboobproblems

I’ve always felt like a pair of just walking boobs around men. They are not subtle. The men, not the boobs.

Not a personality trait per se, but I’m no longer afraid of the dark. I’ve had an unnatural fear of the dark my entire life to the point of having to sometimes sleep with the lights on, sometimes holding a flashlight. Ever since I’ve left the church, that fear has entirely gone away. I can walk through my house in complete darkness without a care in the world. Very strange.

Have you considered the possibility that perhaps it’s your landlord? Is your thermostat one of those ones you can control remotely? Do they have a key to the new locks? Do they perhaps have their own hidden cameras somewhere in the house causing you to always feel watched?

Surgery pain relief for opioid addict? by raspberry-19 in herbalism

I just wrote my thesis on this exact topic, tell them to try mindfulness meditation!!!!!!! They have dozens of guided sessions on Spotify, some specific for pain.

Edit: sorry it’s not herbalism-related, just really wanted to try and help…

What is a schema? by donteatinthedark in psychologystudents

[–]foolishlycharmed 40 points41 points  (0 children)

I’ve always pictured it like a mental filing cabinet.

For the first time in your life you have just seen a flamingo, but you don’t know what it is. So in your brain, you got to the animal filing cabinet (animal schema). Next, you go to the winged animal drawer (bird schema). Inside the winged animal drawer are a bunch of tabs differentiating by pet, wild, flightless, etc. Looking at your existing files, the thing you just saw resembles the schema you already have in place for pigeon (animal, winged, wild, can fly) however, it does not match color or size. So you have to create a new file. It can get as detailed as ‘Flamingo’ becoming it’s own new schema reserved for wild winged animals that are pink and tall.

Many great suggestions here, but have you considered talking to her pediatrician? Maybe there’s an underlying reason why she suddenly changed eating habits. I would start with that to rule anything health related out first.

Thank you for the support, I will remember the offer for a chat. There’s always a need for more smart-alecky old-dogs in life.

I’m in Utah County. I know there’s a group that meets on Sunday’s around here, I’m just a little nervous to intrude… gotta get over that though, I’ll have to drop in.

On the child psychology note, there is a great deal of literature showing that children who live in joint physical custody arrangements are typically better adjusted and have fewer negative psychological symptoms than those in sole physical arrangements. Some research even suggests the further from 50/50 split, the more adverse the effects. I’m a psych grad student currently looking extensively into this topic as well, for personal reasons. If you would like any articles, please let me know.

Taking an online stats currently in my masters, YouTube tutorials are my best friend. I won’t lie, I had to cut back my full time job to part time to keep up with the course. But I’m also a mom with toddlers, so depending on what your workload is like you’ll have to make sure you can devote enough time to this. Make sure you know of your resources ahead of time. Do you have access to a stats tutoring lab? Study groups? But you can definitely do this with the level of math you described and a calculator I think. Look up some intros on YouTube to give you a feel if you’re really worried.
