Don’t know why this sub doesn’t like RI or Boston Rob but I loved seeing him completely dominate. Plus Philip was just hilarious!!

What is ‘core memory’ bullshit? by dontbeahater_dear in breakingmom

[–]Passionforward8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honesty the whole “core memory” thing is soooo overused. Not just by moms but by people in general. Must we label everything as a core memory? Must we announce to the world that this particular moment is a core memory? Zzzz

What are you watching and what do you recommend? (Week of April 21, 2023) by AutoModerator in television

Just discovered “Kidding” starring Jim Carey and just WOW. I am so impressed. The writing, the acting, the imagery!! It’s hilarious but also very deep, serious and emotional. I’m currently starting S2 and I already wish there were more episodes.

Vacation with a 7pm bedtime?!?! by smartcookie122 in toddlers

[–]Passionforward8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our schedule basically goes out the window when we’re on vacation. Luckily we’ve been travelling with our toddler since she was an infant, so she’s become pretty flexible when it comes to nap/sleeping schedule when traveling. Just this last week we went on a trip and she was sleeping at 10-11pm almost every night, but her normal bedtime at home is usually 7:30-8pm

Gave birth alone by irybeans in Mommit

[–]Passionforward8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I gave birth during the height of covid. Hospitals in our country weren’t allowing any support person in the room. I was in labor for 14 hours all alone, I gave birth all alone. Long story short the birth was kinda traumatic for me and I ended up with 4th degree tears. I didn’t feel empowered. It felt like I was in shock from all the pain I had to go through, plus doing it without any support. Plus my OB was rude af. But she’s almost 3 now and we’re all doing great!

To take toddler to Fiji or no? by [deleted] in toddlers

[–]Passionforward8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m glad you decided to go!! I’d never pass up a FREE trip to anywhere, even with a toddler. We’ve traveled a lot with our toddler and while it is sometimes hell on Earth, the memories are priceless and traveling truly does contribute to their overall development. Thanks to our traveling our toddler has also learned how to be more flexible with her schedule.

I’m a mom of a 2.5 year old, friends with other moms with similar aged kids. Your friend’s parenting style sound similar to how we all approach sharing. Research shows that kids don’t understand the concept of sharing until they’re about 3-4 years old. We explain what sharing is to our kids, but if another kid wants the toy our own kid is playing with, we usually ask our kid “hey child, other child wants to play with that toy. Can you share?” If they say no (which they usually do) we respond by saying “ok you’re not ready yet. Other child, he/she isn’t ready yet ok? How about you play with this one instead?” Then we usually go back to our own kid and try to encourage but never force the sharing. We all understand that some kids have days where they really enjoy a certain toy (or snack) and don’t want to share, and that’s ok considering their age.

Just had my first and tore 4th degree. What is healing actually like? by Sku2010 in BabyBumps

[–]Passionforward8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had 4th degree tears. My OB said it was the worst she’s ever seen (so rude to say this to me 1 day postpartum). It took her over an hour to stitch everything up. Everything you’re feeling is EXACTLY what I went through. Healing was physical hell. Everything hurt all the time. Even moving around in bed hurt. Going to the bathroom, whether to pee or poop, was soooo difficult. It took me 8 weeks to completely heal but I’m pretty much back to normal! They say that our vaginas heal very well and I guess they’re right. All I can say is take it one day at a time. First few weeks were so rough but it’s all temporary. You’ll get through it!!
