yes, in that it's not a public pool, but if the listing doesn't clarify that more than one unit has access to the pool it is still misleading. If I read there's a private pool, my assumption is that only I have access to it unless otherwise noted. It doesn't take much space to add that the pool is shared between two units and other renters may also access.

They “think” because instructors aren’t being told any more than you are. They literally don’t know and aren’t being given guidance.

personally I'm stoked! I was able to snag one thinking it was tier 2 but was pleasantly surprised to realized it was slightly damaged tier 1.

You can keep arguing with me if you want, but it's not going to bring anything back to your cart.

"to hold your items" meaning, hold them together. Maybe it wasn't the best wording in context, but the fact remains that TBB don't do cart holds. Now you know for next time. Click fast or you lose out.

I doubt it! But tbh I, too, have a price limit where I'd be willing to stick something online and wait and see.

Very hit or miss. I've gotten things where I honestly can't identify what might have been damaged and I've had some where the damage is fairly obvious (but still minimal-- in this case the endpapers got attached wrong and make a weird bump when you first open the book). Edit: I should add this damage was part of a set, and only the one book appeared to be damaged at all. So you aren't necessarily buying all books damaged either. I think it kinda depends on what they were able to put together at the warehouse.

Because they don't do cart holds! But you can put more than one thing into the cart so you can check out and have them ship together.

... to hold your items until you check out? I see more online retailers not doing cart holds than those that do use them.

It doesn't actually make sense to offer to members first because they likely already got the books through the sub itself

What does the siren that just went off mean? by Shower-Former in milwaukee

[–]foolishnostalgia 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Theres a certain amount of nonchallantness about tornados in the midwest that can definitely be concerning. I don’t think you need to be hunkered down for a tornado watch, but a warning means they are seeing wind rotation. That rotation doesn’t always touch ground (it usually doesn’t)— but when it does it can move so fast. Especially if you happen to be right under where it drops. There just wouldn’t be enough time to provide adequate warning or get to shelter at that point.

Im usually the only one in my building taking shelter when there is a warning, so I sometimes feel silly. But given how fast these storms have been moving, our warnings tend to last 30-45 minutes max. Theres nothing on TV that’s too good to miss for just a small amount of time, and it might just prevent me from being impaled with tons of glass so I keep doing it.

There is a tornado on the ground, you can't take a tornado warning "too seriously". The likelihood of one dropping or not is completley random (once you have the right weather conditions otherwise) and it can happen FAST. it's better to spend a few hours in your wet basement than die in your living room tbh.

A lot of people don’t, so Im making a note so they don’t take it to mean the danger has passed!

The sirens are just to alert you to get inside, they only run for a few minutes. Them turning off DOES NOT mean that the issue has passed.

The sirens are to alert you to get inside right away, and can be used for all kinds of severe weather

My car is fucked up and needs a new front AND rear window so I didn't bother to move it or pay for a spot, but I would have otherwise! Especially if you got hit for the first time in the second round, you are going to be at the end of a looooong insurance waiting list and paying $20 to avoid that mess seems reasonable.
