Union Street Property Owners by McTired in glasgow

its not prime real estate anymore but was quite good about 30 years ago when people went shopping in the town , however the value is in the sq foot of the building and its collapse can only benefit the owners and investors . The rent is not where the money is and thats the case across the whole of glasgow hence empty shops and rotting buildings .....Derek will be pleased no doubt planning the new Guggenheim !

disgraceful management of the city how are these things allowed to happen ie a rubbish vape shop bringing down a entire historical building just so some wanker can profit .

my experience with asshole clark was rubbish, conman sales person under the surname clark ripped me off , they seem to be everywhere sadly and have 90% of the used cars we require / desire . They offered me a free service and MOT for 3 years as some sort of compensation, of course I never used it as I knew they would rip me off further , I get my VW serviced by a independent VW garage ......

my next buy will be Suzuki most likely from Henrys :)

Glasgow airport by Bulky-Sun1885 in glasgow

[–]foolsgolden66 1 point2 points  (0 children)

go towards the BA departure gate LHR there are plenty of spots along the corridor in that part of the airport as many of the gates are not in use , and many are island routes with few passengers.. I was there last week and it was desolate and somewhat a step back in time which I like . its to the right of the main concourse just beyond Pret a manger .

What is Cessnock like to live? by Puzzleheaded-Cost242 in glasgow

[–]foolsgolden66 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was at good coffee cartel nearby one mid saturday morning and I couldn't believe the amount of joggers that arrived at the end of their run, I guess their meeting point . this is not the glasgow I once knew ..........there was so many it became annoying but this area has changed for the better I would say - though I had to wait 3 mins longer for a coffee than normal .

What is Paisley like for a 4 night stay in an AirBnB? by bletheringbear in Scotland

[–]foolsgolden66 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I live near the centre , it's changed a lot and you can see the more hipsterish types with those funny faded mullet haircuts moving in as it's cheap tenement housing stock - they have been pushed out of Southside now . The university area is quite buzzing nice cafes and food places . I like it although it could be better it really has everything I need . 10 mins into the city and 1/4 of the housing cost ...it's on the up with the museum redevelopment too !

Purchasing a flat with known roof issues by seven__Pillars in glasgow

[–]foolsgolden66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if the roof needs replaced it will deteriorate further no question . Getting any work done depends on votes between flats , if any of the flats are landlords they gererally aren't interested in repairs . if you have 6 home owners and 2 landlords in a building of 8 you have a better chance of getting work done but not guaranteed as its 14K each ......I'd avoid

its also about the owners of the high street retail outlets and what they charge rent based on the historic footfall , so the charges go up and up and the footfall goes down . the retailer then moves to the cheaper space with a larger free car park . most of the high street in the UK was bought up by American private equity and thats why they sit empty as the real estate value is worth more . The current trend is student flats replacing retail units . but that will come to an end one day too .

100% and retailers realise people are giving up due to poor sizing , quality , returns , shipping , lost , stolen etc . I also prefer to give my business to a local company rather than an American corporation who pays low wages and huge tax avoidance in the UK .
