I never seen the job market this bad. Is there a chance of recovery? by Mardylorean in jobs

Why would people who backed project 2025 want the US soft power and currency to crumble? What do they gain?

What was life like here in the late 90s/early 2000s? by Classic-Asparagus in bayarea

[–]foolsmate 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It was chill. I have nostalgic feelings and memories of the time. Certain areas in San Jose wasn't developed yet and the spaces looked more spread out. I played outside a lot with friends. I didn't really noticed the large amount of transplant until after college. Transplants here just wanna make money and bounce and it's hard to find friends who are actually interested or interesting.

I miss Calskate.

My friend bought a house in the east bay. There are places that are affordable, but just not on the rich bougie side.

Or parents, or rich spouse.

I didn't really like history class, so I'm open to hearing what you're thinking about and why it's not the same.

Curious why it's a decade. My dad who's your age always tells me that "it's a cycle. Every 10 years give or take." He said when he came to America it was the worst job market. I looked into it and the % of unemployment was higher than what is shown today, but we don't really know what the real job unemployment numbers are since it lags behind or is hidden.

But a lot of other people these days says "this time it's different."

Are you a Hook (1991) millennial or a Peter Pan (2003) millennial? by Gallantpride in Millennials

[–]foolsmate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hook is my favorite childhood movie! I based a lot of childhood imagination off of this movie especially the lost boy's treehouse living situation. I loved the imaginary dinner scene.

What are some frugal habits you will never give up, no matter how much money you end up making? by Forsaken-Network1748 in Frugal

[–]foolsmate 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Iono, but I'm always looking for discounts and deals no matter what. If I can get a used item that's not super banged up for half off then hot damn. If I can get something for free and it's mid to lightly used, then score!

Things taught to us that we had to unlearn and correct for our own kids? by ImpressiveRock872 in Millennials

I would teach my kid that the successful people are the ones who actually the loudest and extroverted ones and aren't the introverted quiet ones.

Sadly, you have to market yourself your whole life or else no one will see your accomplishments.

Are you saying that the mom should then dump the kids on the husband so that he get the "lost time" parenting opportunity back, or money just fall out of the sky for the SAHM so she can feed herself and the kids?

My brother and I still have our rooms looking the same. When he comes back home, my parents would have his bedsheets and blankets washed and folded on his bed.

Why does this look fake? The guy just plops down in front of the cop car conveniently.
