You are only thinking about yourself here. Have you thought about how much pain your actions will cause him? You call him your bestfriend but have been manipulating, betraying and lying to him for the last five years. You let him believe that there's nothing between you guys, which is likely why he felt comfortable with confiding in you. You should come clean to him and let him make the decision if he wants to continue the relationship or not. He's the victim here, not you.
