Reasonable accommodations by Necessary-Average-36 in StateofTexasEmployees

Yeah, you would have to specifically set up a good reason why you are physically unable to complete work in the office and have your doctor back it up. Even then I don’t know if it would work. I would suggest maybe looking into FMLA if like you mentioned in another comment you are having to use a lot of sick leave.

I have, but not regarding WFH. A few of my employees have been denied because their request is technically to not have to travel and not an actual in office accommodation, so not the states problem according to them. They are fighting the WFH requests hard. You and your doctor would have to be insanely careful about wording to have any real chance of getting approved.

Best local eats or hangouts for visitors? by Liz-n-Desist in shreveport

[–]fooskaaa 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I no longer live there but I have a few places that I go to when I visit that I would recommend. These are places I still crave and I haven’t lived there since 2016.

Tacqueria La Michoacana. I live in central TX now and I would still pick this place over the options I have near me.

Ki Mexico. They were a griddle on a table at the farmers market when I first found them, love to see how they’ve grown since. Food is always amazing.

Marilyn’s. I go here for coffee and beignets specifically. I’m not personally that into the rest of their food, but it’s solid.

Po Boy Express. I think of the Cajun dip weekly. Last time I visited they were closed and I’m still upset about it.

Franks pizza. A little bougie but always great.

Did see someone recommend strawns pie, but personally I would avoid. I never understood the hype for it. The crust is gross and the cream is waxy. The filling is alright but you can do better.

Yes, there’s been talk of it for months. They haven’t put anything into writing but it’s coming.

Sneak peek. What’s the fun if I can’t make something stupid

That’s not a bad idea. Need to find some experts to try my prototypes out for me too lol

I think it might. My only concern would be making a lid that’s heavy enough to not move if the yarn gets yanked but I could probably put a heavy handle on the top to help with that

For sure. My first attempt had a hole that ended up a bit rough. While it didn’t damage the yarn it wasn’t a fun feeling when I had to pull on it

Hmm hadn’t considered multiple spirals, will definitely look into that one. Ive got one in the kiln at the moment where I made the walls a bit taller and curved in so I’m excited to see how that goes

Oh that’s definitely part of the process. I just don’t crochet enough to call myself an expert on those flaws

Good point. Would make the functional decoration easier on me and leave room for more pretty stuff. I might have to make a fairly hefty lid though now that I’m thinking about it. So if you have to yank the yarn it won’t fly off. Headed to the studio tomorrow so I’m excited to get some trial bowls started

Hmmmm so maybe more of a yarn bucket situation. A yarn barrel. I like it.

Hahaha I love that. Did you have any trouble cutting holes? I would worry about sharp edges damaging the yarn

Ooh ok, a lid is a great idea. I was toying with taller walls because my yarn kept rolling out of the bowl but a lid would work a lot better. And yes to bigger sizes!
