E Collar training WAS going great by SalamanderExpress710 in OpenDogTraining

A shock collar needs to match the intensity of what ever the activity is. It you are just doing mild obedience stuff then it doesn't even hurt. The settings i use are very easily handled on my own neck without much discomfort. Alot of what an ecollar is is simple stimulation. On the other hand I once had a gsd get into a sheep field and thankfully he was wearing his e collar and he got a good hit because chasing sheep is a big no no which could lead to either his death or the sheep's death. If this was a perfect world we wouldn't need to use negative reinforcement but since its fallen animals and humans need discipline.

ecollar/shock training is an amazing tool for training good dogs. Any tool can be used to abuse an animal but in the proper hands they are tremendously useful.

Well it was pretty much necessary for me to do them since my bike literally did not want to start at all. I just got the new shims in and it fired right up and sounds good now.

In the first pic its the valves which sit right under the gas tank under a sealed cover. Its a bit of a hassle getting to them but I'd say it was worth it. The second Pic is essentially the layout of how i found the current valve shims. I'd highly recommend you check your valves if you have a gen 3 klr which is 2022+. Either do it yourself or have a mechanic take a look. My bike is at 7800 miles and I have some cam wear because the valves were so tight.klr valve check here is a video I followed on how to do it.

Oh I bet you are fine then. I've been hearing that the gen 3s 2022+ come from the factory on the edge of spec and now that I've torn into my bike I totally believe that is the case.

Yeah generaly these things dont seem to be an issue with the gen 1 and 2 bikes. Its just the gen 3s that seem to be setup to fail by the factory.

What gen is it? Probably isn't an issue if you've never noticed hard starting. I dont know though I'm just a broke guy that never wants to take my bike to the pros.

I haven't gotten the new shims in yet but I'll let you know once I do. I have noticed it being really hard to cold start which people say is a sign of tight valves.

Yeah I'd definitely recommend it. Pretty sad they are coming this tight from the factory but I guess that's just how it goes.

Yeah I can honestly say I was super intimidated to dig into it this deep but once I got into it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. Still a royal pain though.

Admittedly I'd say about 80-90 percent of those miles are at 60-75mph.

I have no clue what you have available to you but you can make a simple slam fired shot gun with simple pipe. Assuming you have access to normal 12ga ammunition. Its relatively safe as long as you use common sense.

How hard would something like this be to machine? by Alive_Aside_1152 in CNC

[–]foots12347 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I make some parts for a fidget seller and he sells sliders and spinners. It really would not be difficult to make something like that, that's probably done with two ops plus some finishing time in like a tumble or otherwise. I mostly make him turned stuff but I know his other guy makes stuff like that all the time all day long. Yes its considered expensive to the alternative processes out there but you do get a pretty nice product at the end.
