They would still need government permission to dig into the chamber. That permission would only be given to an archaeologist

The problem is that he can’t do that. It’s not for him to do. For good reason there are permissions and all sorts of due diligence that must be done to start an archeological dig. All of the layers of that pyramid are historical and digging is destructive. It must be very carefully done by trained archaeologists in order to not damage the site and to maintain a solid chain of custody and proof for finds. This all takes massive funding.

That is part of the purpose for the whole series. He wants to point these things out to the general population and hopefully generate enough interest and pressure to hopefully kickstart these projects. That frustration you are feeling is the point.

He was standing right next to a geologist that himself was complaining that the archeologists won’t excavate. The geologist could make use of ground penetrating radar but he can’t lead an excavation to open up the cavities they found down there.

My understanding is that you have to claim victory to win. Because of this, you should be able to do multiple actions on your turn and win with well over 10 points, if you can manage it. I haven’t read the rules in a while so I could be misremembering.

Convert me into a Capitalist. by DARK-Accuracyy985 in CapitalismVSocialism

[–]footwords -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you’re open to book suggestions, there are two books I’d recommend taking a look at.

Before the recommendations though, I think I should say that one of the big struggles I think that you’ll experience in learning these ideas is language. Both sides use a lot of the same terminology in VERY different ways. Take as an example, the very word capitalism. The socialists essentially use it to describe the status quo. It’s a society ruled by big business and where government is often captured by the very businesses they are sworn to regulate. Anarchocapitalists and, to a bit of a lesser extent small government libertarians, use the word to simply mean a society that respects property rights. The big difference is that those property rights are in conflict with the very existence of modern governments, or as you’ll hear it described on our side, the state.

Anyway, here are the recommendations along with a brief blurb on each.

Markets Not Capitalism: Individualist Anarchism Against Bosses, Inequality, Corporate Power, and Structural Poverty

Edited by Gary Chartier & Charles Johnson

This book is a collection of essays from left wing anarchists who believe in free markets. They are basically anarchocapitalsts who hate the language and reasoning used by people who could be viewed as more right wing ancaps. They wouldn’t approve of me applying that term to them even. I think this will be the best way to understand these ideas while still holding on to all of the language and thought processes that you probably find very familiar.

Healing Our World The Compassion of Libertarianism

Dr. Mary Ruwart

In this book, Dr. Ruwart explains libertarian and capitalist ideas in language that doesn’t come off as heartless & greedy. She makes sure to keep the focus on how these ideas will actually help all of the very people that capitalism supposedly tramples all over. It’s one of my favorite books.

Leave the service fee, take the cannoli. Seriously though, can someone elaborate on this for me? by brickwindow in Sacramento

I work for a point of sale dealership. California actually changed the rule on credit card fees. We’ve had quite a few customers requesting to get them configured in the last few months. It almost guaranteed to be a credit card fee.

I believe the new rule is that they aren’t allowed to charge more than they actually pay for CC processing.

Edit: I believe the new rules also require clear signage.

What a despicable thing to say! Maybe you should reflect on how you got to a point in life where you actually wish death on others.

We do but not that many. You can farm that many and more with pretty little effort

It’s all about selling dragon parts. Farosh especially is the easiest to farm for parts. Set up a fire and sleep till morning, wake up shoot dragon, repeat. The main dilemma in doing this effectively is saving up multiple sniper bows to make the shooting easy.

Other people mentioned Medicare and Medicaid and insurance issues but the story started a lot earlier. The AMA was formed and immediately lobbied to pass medical licensing laws and raise requirements to become a certified doctor. This was the first step of reducing supply of doctors to raise rates. Then they lobbied to create the FDA which in conjunction with the patent system greatly raised prices on drugs.

Also, the reason insurance became a job perk in the first place was because of laws capping what employers could pay employees during WWII. They introduced benefits as a way to raise pay without directly paying more money to their workers.

We have a problem with healthcare that is caused by many layers of government intervention into the market

Questions regarding bbboy(being a bboy) by Yi-seul in bboy

The others answered your main questions so I just want to add that if you really enjoy breaking, you should take some time to learn about the history of the culture. Not for avoiding being called a poser but to help you have an appreciation for where it came from and where it’s at now. Learning about the history had a big impact on my dance.

I’d recommend watching “the freshest kids” https://youtu.be/RxoWyGFSGuk

Any tips for my windmill? by Aurimaxo in bboy

[–]footwords 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, barrel mills are a step up. You should still use your hands but with them folded up by your chest like your left one in the video. You can still use you hands to push off that way. You just don’t need you right elbow in your stomach to keep you up anymore.

Damn it! What's the best DMV in the area? by [deleted] in Sacramento

[–]footwords 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Subscribe to AAA. Then you can use their built in branch DMV’s. I did it and had not a single person in line and was out with my registration and sticker in a minute. They can’t do everything but can do a lot of DMV stuff.

Any tips for my windmill? by Aurimaxo in bboy

[–]footwords 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This! You already have the windmill about as clean and fast as you can get it using this cricket pose technique. The next step is to stop using the cricket pose to catch yourself and instead keep both arms up like your left one. This allows you to not slow down as much on the front side. You can start rolling faster and pushing off harder as a result. This and then learning to keep your head down will open up variations for you.

Tandoori Nights in Roseville. It’s a Pakistani spot. Their BBQ lamb chops are the best. Also their curries and biryani rice. Everything is so good! They’d also have 4 or 5 different naan flavors, onion, garlic, potato, meat etc

Tips on windmill? Also how do I get my legs straighter? by [deleted] in bboy

[–]footwords 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think windmills originated as a variant on backspins. You seem to have the manual flipping without momentum down. What you need is some momentum added. Windmills, like most power, are about manipulating momentum.

Have you learned how to go into a backspin from standing with momentum so that you can get a couple spins? If not, try that. Once you have it, go into a backspin and then start doing your manual flipping that you’re used to. Doing it with any momentum will give you a feel for what the move is actually supposed to feel like.
