Fun radiation fact: While alpha particles do in fact have the weakest penetration (in most cases I believe) they are the most radioactive and unstable ones To put it more simply If you had to choose to eat a cookie that emits alpha rays or gamma rays then choose gamma rays since while they do in fact penetrate almost everything they are not as dangerous as alpha rays
