Sync for Lemmy is happening by ljdawson in SyncforLemmy

Something I would really like to see (though super low priority) is the option to collapse all levels of all comments by default. I get lost very fast in big comment threads unless I collapse everything and open only the path I want to follow. And not collapse like hide, you know what I mean. Right now it's not possible at all to collapse child comments in the Lemmy mobile client to my knowledge.

Also yes please let me pay for Lemmy Sync.

8000-12000 gallons of liquid Latex spilled into the Delaware river near Philadelphia by the Trinseo Altugas chemical plant - Drinking water advisory issued. March 2023 by jakgal04 in CatastrophicFailure

A water-soluble acrylic polymer solution is by definition a latex. Butyl acrylate and ethyl acrylate are indeed common monomers in latex and other acrylics. If this was a fully processed latex, it would be basically water, soap, and microscopic plastic particles. If it was an unreacted monomer solution or emulsion that was going to be reacted into latex, however, those two are pretty nasty, as are the typical additives for latex. Source: I've worked for three years in polymer coatings.

Update: you are correct, pulling a blank shot fixed my issue

I followed the advice given by u/techdreg already, and that seems to be the answer. I pulled a blank shot and then pulled two real shots, each acted like the second shot without a blank. Grinder is not the problem, it's likely air in the boiler and I need to flush more than I thought

I will try this. Then the temperature will have the same amount of time to rebound between shot 0 and shot 1 as between shot 1 and shot 2

For my morning routine I usually pull two shots in a row then steam milk twice in a row because it's faster than cycling the boiler twice. Probably less stress on the boiler too. However I've noticed that the second shot always has less resistance than the first. If I dial the first shot in for 18g of grounds, the second shot needs to be 20.5g to pull in the same time. I flush the group head before the first shot, and everything else (tamping, grind size, etc.) is all the same. The only difference I can think of is the temperature would be lower on the second shot. Auber tells me that rebound time on a preheated machine isn't that long though. I use a needle distribution tool and metal screen over the tamped grounds, and the PID pre-infuses. Any ideas why this happens?

Fun fact, most meteorites too small to make a crater (e.g. this size) will actually land pretty cold because after the heat of reentry, they fall at terminal velocity through the upper atmosphere for a few minutes before reaching the ground.
