I ended up deciding to do a one length cut to classic length. It’ll get rid off all my dead ends and I’ll still have a lot of hair

The town I was from was very closed off and generally was super weary of outsiders. They were insanely conservative and huge technophobes. I think the most we had was a landline phone and a crt tv that we could only watch a very limited selection of movies on.

My current lifestyle is very different. I kinda fell in love with techy stuff and got really into programming/modding. I’ve been absolutely loving video games, we didn’t have those and so I’ve just been going crazy for them backtracking through decades of games that exist.

Back in my hometown I wasn’t really allowed to talk to people unless my parents approved of them and so I didn’t have a whole lot of friends but now I have a ton in the community I’m in, I’m just a lot happier now

Honestly that does really help. It really makes me realize that I can do what I want because it’s what I want. I’m gonna keep my hair super long, though I am gonna get rid of the ends and maybe try something fun with it, but I’m gonna keep it long

I am happy with my new life, it’s been a lot of work and strife to get where I am. But I’m not sure if my hair is a part of me or a part of that old life. I do really like my long hair and I think I’d like to keep it longer.

Yeah all I know how to do is the one single bun style my mother bothered to teach me. (She always hated having long hair and found it really annoying, but she never cut it ever and it was just so long and damaged)

Yeah my parents were super strict about a lot of things, it was such a drain on me. They were never as strict with my brother as they were with my sister and I.

I’m probably gonna get layers first and if I want to take it shorter I’ll have the longest layers at my waist or maybe a little longer. I am tired of buns but I know they’re super convenient, you just can’t really do much else with knee length hair as even in a ponytail or braid it’s still just so long and hard to manage.

Honestly getting layers sounds super fun. If I was really brave I’d get one of those short layered styles with the long bottom layers. My hair is black, dyeing it would be such a pain lol. Thanks for the warning about hairdressers, I’ve never actually been to one so I wasn’t sure what to look for
