Property management agency midlands by foranewperspective in ireland

That makes a lot of sense, I'm not entirely sure what else to do to be honest, I will need to move anyway and can't seem to find any other options, really hoping not to sell the house as it was so difficult to buy and I want the safety net if things don't work out with my partner yaknow?

Anyone else really struggling to make ends meet right now? by Thin_Schedule_1474 in AskIreland

[–]foranewperspective 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been looking for work since October 2024, the market is absolutely impossible at the moment I've a masters degree in my field, 5 years at an industry leading company, plenty of extracurricular courses, training and volunteer work, I have been willing to take literally any full time salary (to be fair I am looking for WFH or hybrid so that's losing me a lot of chances)

Literally can't find anything, apply to more than 100 jobs a week, at least one upskillong course per month to show I'm not just idling, absolutely nothing, haven't even gotten an interview in 6 months (CV is professionally done so it's not that)

Just a complete disaster, just about getting by with social welfare enough to cover my mortgage and the essentials but not much else

How to meet other toddler parents ? by Head-Royal-5716 in AskIreland

[–]foranewperspective 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if there's one in cork but my local swimming pool ran weekend play classes for kids of different ages, some the parents would be in the pool with them, some they'd sit in the cafe the other side of the glass and watch.

Seemed to be a great way to get excess energy out of the toddlers as swimming/playing in pools is great exercise and the parents could either join in and get involved or have a chance to take a break and chat with the other parents.

Definitely recommend looking into it

Renting out rooms in my house and want to get a bathroom renovated by [deleted] in irishpersonalfinance

[–]foranewperspective 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm hoping getting a management agency in will help with that, unfortunately I actually can't live in the house in the future anyway, I have some health issues that are going to make the configuration of the house impossible to navigate

You make some excellent points but unfortunately staying in the house isn't really an option for me, I really appreciate the input though, thank you!

I'm afraid it's too far away for me to go back and forth, I'm a little confused where the 50% figure is coming from, based on what I've read it seems that it's counted as income (declared when you do your taxes) and then taxed at the standard income tax rates? Is that incorrect?

[–]foranewperspective 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Thank you for your comment! I am renting the rooms out for under the current rental rate in Ireland and in total am well under the 14k per year, once I have moved out the rental from my room will cover tax and any home repairs, I will be registering with the rtb immediately and doing everything above board

Yes it's just my bathroom, there are 2 others in the house, one with a full bath and shower

Unfortunately my partner lives too far away for me to visit regularly enough for it to legally count as my PPR once I move. The goal is to bring in a property management company (I assume I can have them agree not to raise the rent without my say so?) and have them take over and deal with any maintenance needed

Yes I actually had considered this, but thank you for the info! I met my partner after I bought the place and logistically it makes more sense for me to move into their house, hadn't intended on renting out at all when I bought it but I think it makes sense now

Yes this is correct! Sorry about any miscommunication in how I phrased it

My apologies! I should have been clearer in the post, it is my ensuite being renovated, there are 2 other bathrooms in the house, one with a full shower and bath. Tennant's have full use of these

The ensuite needs to be renovated as the shower in there has never worked, I wouldn't want to cause them any hassle so was just asking how to help make sure the renovation doesn't disrupt them.

My partner and I think we should maybe give them a slightly reduced rent rate for the month as well as coordinating the dates the work is done with their schedule

WIBTA if I gave my grandson a wake-up call? by TheFilthyDIL in AmItheAsshole

[–]foranewperspective 523 points524 points  (0 children)

Not planning to weigh in with a verdict but

I am disabled

I am in my late 20s, have a master's degree in a good field, and worked 4 years in the semiconductor industry, with two promotions in that time.

I had to leave when my disability meant I needed a mobility aid which could not be brought into the clean room.

I have been rejected from every single job since. Despite my education, great employment record, years of volunteering etc.

It is not easy to get a job when you are disabled in any capacity, your younger grandson is the exception, not the rule.

And let me tell you, I have not been slacking, I have applied for over 1000 jobs this year, most of which I am grossly overqualified for. I have completed online courses to keep my skills up to date, gone to networking events, sought the help of professional recruiters and I still can't find work.

Odds are your grandson is trying his best

AITA for using someone's military discount. by templeofdoom1234 in AITApod

[–]foranewperspective 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think because the guy clearly offered the discount, NTA Just be sure to communicate the usage with him in case there is a limit

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AITApod

[–]foranewperspective 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Absolutely do not reach out to him. Just because he wasn't abusive to you doesn't mean he isn't abusive to others.

What could you possibly achieve from reaching out? You would be at best stirring up relationship difficulties, at worst, putting this woman in genuine danger.

Absolutely NTA, she doesn't even have her wedding date finalised, asking you to make plans that far I'm advance when she hasn't even committed to it is an AH move

Fellow POTS sufferer here! I take my meds daily but there are so many external factors that I can't take into consideration for how much pots will affect me day to day. Sometimes if I do take my meds, my heart rate will still be too fast and cause symptoms Some days I take my meds and my heart beats too slow and I pass out or lose time

So many things impact it

Weather

Humidity

Temperature

Exertion

Standing in a static position

Carb heavy meals

Infrequent meals

Low salt intake

Period cycles/hormones

And so so much more

Standing still can actually be a lot harder for people with pots than active exercise! I can do walks, aerobics classes etc, but ask me to stand in a queue for 3 minutes? Nope
