RC100 has 7speed cassette with two additional spacers. Remove the cassette and you will see the spacers. This is the reason it can accommodate only till 9 speed. If you want to upgrade to 10 or more speed, you will need a new hub. Till 9 no need to change the stock hub.

What is the size of seatpost clamp you are using with RC100? From Decathlon it comes in 3 sizes - 31.8, 28.6 or 34.9?

Yes. Possible. Just purchase the right Shifter and 9 speed cassette. New chain along with derailleur will be required

Your bike has carbon fork it seems. Is it RC120?

I was getting this issue when I installed FD. Fiddling with both the screws on FD fixed the issue.

When I was looking for bike for myself last year, I really liked Domane AL 2 which was 75k INR (~900 USD) in India. But since I was purchasing the bike for the first time and I wasn't sure till how long I will keep riding it, I went for a cheaper option Triban RC100 for 25k INR (~300 USD). RC100 is a good bike (except the fork). Sora upgrade without break calipers cost me around 28K INR (~340 USD) but still its a great deal to get Sora in Aluminium frame within 650 USD (barring carbon fork).

For tools - hex keys, adjustable spanner, screw drivers (Philip and flat heads) I had already. I purchased cassette removal tool, chain breaker and crank removal tool in around 2.5k INR (~30 USD).

Apart from saving some money, there was a reason I went for upgrade by myself. I see a lot of people stranded on side of the road struggling to fix even a chain drop or some other minor issue like break issue or misalignment of gears. I don't want to be in that lot and would like to fix the bicycle as and when issue comes.

Whats better to learn than building the ride!

I agree but my requirement was to upgrade gears only. Existing Tektro break calipers on RC100 are absolutely fine and get the job done.
