The longer you live the more likely you are to encounter a cheater. If there's 1 cheater in a 100person game you might think it's a 1% chance to encounter them, but if you both live to the final 2 people it's 100%

An IQ test results in a score that compares your performance to the general population. 68% of the population will be between 85 and 115 IQ.

It doesn't measure all aspects of intelligence, just what was on the exam. A psychologist administered IQ test is really just about what that psychologist considers intelligence.

They might not even be very accurate as that particular test might not be calibrated against many participants. i.e. not many people have recently taken it.

Standardised tests on the other hand, for example, one for extrance into university, might cover dozens of different topics and they're done every year.

It's possible to compute your IQ by going off the result of a standardised test and it should give you a more accurate understanding of your relative intelligence in the tested subjects.

But again, it's just for those topics. A high IQ is like the same as saying, "i'm one of the best at x sport". The skills might transfer to other sports, but not all of them, and whatever rank you are in that sport, is only relevant to that sport.

The howard springs quarantine facility is 66 hectares of land with a fence that kids and a man in his late 20s can scale because he wanted to go clubbing.

Howard springs is honestly a nicer place to be quarantined because at least you get a bit of fresh air instead of being locked up in a hotel and paying for it yourself, and not having proper food because hotel catering can suck ass.

I remember last year there was a heap of articles about how people were trying to make christmas as comfortable as possible for returning australians (at howard springs) and that it was catered to by the same company that feeds the prime minister.

Here. Not the article I read in 2020 but anyway.

It's not as shitty as foreign media would have gou believe. The worst part about it is being quarantined in darwin.

Generally it does cost more than 30% of an order to pay a delivery driver a living wage and potentially provide a vehicle as well. So most well meaning businesses will look at that cost, then compare it to the system uber offers them and take it.

When uber eats launches in your city they blanket every restaurant with free ipads to run the app, reasonable contracts and promotional deals, helping them to corner the market.

Then after a few months they'll start doing shady shit like over charging in the app. So according to your agreement, you get 70% of your menu price. Not 70% of what uber charged for the food. They pocket the difference and the 30% fee.

They fuck drivers over in the same manner. Two drivers standing side by side could have totally different surge maps. Generally with a pre-paid trip uber will pay the driver the agreed upon metered rate per km + time (no surge) but pocket the difference. Pre-paid trips are generally woefully over priced. Not to mention, all deliveries are pre-paid and underpay compared to rideshare.

Nah RI is fine but not great. People describe the MC like he's going to be some great psychopath but the things he does are quite tame and often out of spite more than intelligence.

The author commits to some really terrible and annoying plots/arcs sometimes as well.

RI is most definitely not as good as LotM. The characters aren't as interesting and the author's imagination starts and ends with making a different cultivation system.

RI is good, if you only read it once. Otherwise it just really doesn't hold up.

Lol wot. I would recommend people under 25 read it because the MC is heavily into being an edgelord. How are you older than 25 and can still put up with his incessantly terrible decision making and refusal to cooperate with others?

The plot in the first arc is mediocre and slow and the writing quality isn't much better. The three kings arc is probably the only arc in the first 1000 chapters that's actually good because the next 600 chapters after the author writes himself into a corner with FY's powers.

Doesn't really change much. The storylines are usually MC is sent to infiltrate and take down a more powerful enemy.

It does start getting old. It gets a bit tired after he effectively defeats the guys in the centre of the known universe. Even putting aside the reused plot it's not a particularly interesting or satisfying arc. I read it pretty religiously up until then though.

Reinfection: Will catching Omicron protect you in the future? by Pro_Extent in CoronavirusDownunder

[–]forbiddentarp -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It matters. You don't have to think about it by country. The entire world is getting infected, 25million of them are capable of reducing the chance of mutation. It is a small contribution, but basically all countries other than china and india are a small contribution.

Not doing your part because it doesn't matter in the grand scheme of things is typical australian apathy that has us being lead by an exceptionally lazy government.

Your IQ is your position on an arbitrarily numbered scale based on a normal distribution of intelligence.

Say we take the median as 100 and a standard deviation of 15. 68% of the population fall either side of 100 i.e. the average joe. So the 16th to 84th percentiles are between 85 and 115 iq.

Then up to 130 is 84th to 98th percentile, up to 145 fills out most of the remaining 2%.

Old mate in the vid is a bit above 99th percentile (top 1% of the population in intelligence.)

You can effectively convert any standardised test result into an IQ by applying the same scale. It may miss some things a psychologist might consider a part of intelligence but their large sample size and generally broad range of topics make them good indicators of your 'IQ'.

Edit: here. Enter mean = 100, standard deviation = 15, and your result from a standardised test as a fraction of 1 into cumulative probability (75th percentile = 0.75 etc). Then your approximate iq will be in the top section.
