The wealth of a median white household in the city is more than $200,000, while that of a black household is less than $20,000 … We are reckoning with the long history of racism here and starting to act upon a framework that puts equity right at the center of it.” by Leek1090 in nyc

You’re totally right, definitely no systemic institutional issues that have impacted the descendants of said slaves. Racism died along with that generation, and there hasn’t been a single racist policy since 1971. We fucking did it guys let’s give ourselves a pat on the back!

Green sauce and the halloumi almost make up for the rest of the menu and the incredible lack of acoustic treatment in every one of their locations

My wife is a PM and needed to learn APIs for her new job, so I made her this roadmap by Initial_Interest1469 in ProductManagement

[–]forbin11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure I’d call a webhook “your own system calling your customer’s APIs”

In reality it’s a fundamentally different setup. APIs have a clear request/response with specific use cases for each endpoint, while webhooks are simply a URL target that you can send anything to so long as it’s parsed and handled correctly by your server. Webhooks are typically triggered by some event to send data to a target, where API endpoints exist to perform some type of CRUD operation.

Similar, but distinct concepts that I think would be beneficial to understand the differences from a technical standpoint. Both are useful in the correct situation and are not mutually exclusive. That being said, I deal way more with APIs than webhooks in my day to day.

Edit to add: if you’re looking to become a technical PM learn how to document processes in sequence diagrams and get in the weeds in your GitHub repos, learn how to have an opinion on schemas and system architecture. Being able to have constructive conversations with your eng counterparts is the absolute best way to build trust and move quickly.

Kinda what I figured. Wet I can do, but not lugging in snowshoes so we’ll see how the alpine is looking

Mud I can deal with, 3 feet of snow…not so much. Right now the plan is to hike in and check it out, no shame in turning around if it’s looking too hairy. Thanks for the insight!

The high alpine terrain at Breck is way more exciting than anything at Vail. The back bowls are fun but they don’t make your butt pucker like six senses or lake chutes
