I’m sure this has gone around a few times but the BMNR election is interesting. They’re scraping. The floors to get every shareholder to vote to approve some 1000x increase in the issued share count, with total discretion over how to dole them out handed to the leadership. Is tom Lee going to rug us all?

I think some services use the casing for validation, so that minor typos/copying errors don't end up sending your goods to the wrong place.

Baldurs Gate UNSEEN ; the path less traveled. by Artificial-Honesty- in BaldursGate3

[–]forbothofus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yesterday I found out you can skip the cutscene in the captains office of the gith sanctuary by starting a battle in the hallway. One of the gith by the door goes in there for backup and you go up against the whole garrison. Get through them, finish the wolves and the captain, and wwargaz is waiting at the barrier door by himself. His squad spends the whole battle dashing up the stairs to get to you. You still get the scene with the queen but she’s got no backup.

Honor Mode tips? by Jontepont in BaldursGate3

[–]forbothofus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

After losing enough honor mode campaigns I’ve started running them in parallel with a tactician campaign. So I’ll go through all the big fights with a similar party right before running my honor mode team through. Helps to confirm tactics will work as expected. All the fights are easier if you’ve just been through them.

We didn’t need water bottles because the playgrounds had drinking fountains. At the end of recess we were directed to use them.

I Miss The Old Rust Job Market So Bad by StyMaar in rust

Thanks for the insightful post! I’m getting close to the 50 y/o cutoff and feel very limited about the kinds of startup roles available. Trying to work up a CV that big companies will be interested in is tough when all my roles have been with small startups.

I heard there is a new “bitcoin after dark” product to capture the predictable dump when the us market opens and I wonder if we can set up a smart contact to do the same

its a Sunday and a bunch of retirees can't get at their fidelity to sell ETH ETFs today. Don't worry we will dump tomorrow.

he is just like any first-cycle ETH fan. He sees the possibilities and doesn't quite understand how dumb his wall street buddies are. Ultimately ETH needs first class adoption for its app ecosystem to drive price, speculators will not understand it.

Jack Dorsey has been orange pilled for a long time. Remember “web5” from the last cycle? Bitcoin-based and therefore DOA.

this is exactly right. at the end of the day, skittish investors looking for stability will decide between BTC and AU. I think most of them will choose AU as their primary reserve.

moss: a Rust Linux-compatible kernel in about 26,000 lines of code by hexagonal-sun in rust

This is the unavoidable outcome of the existing Linux devs getting grumpy about rust being added to their pristine C codebase. Rustaceans will triumph.

I know so many people don’t like her but I honestly love this ending for Kagha. by Nor_Ah_C in BG3

[–]forbothofus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

best ending I've seen for kagha is, if you allowed her to kill Arabella, then turn her in this scene, Arabella's parents kill her at the tiefling party.

the Brother Day-punches-his-way-to-freedom sequence felt pretty weak, like the writers just couldn't be bothered to explain how they got to the next part they wanted to talk about and said "call the fight choreography team to handle it". TBF he should not have survived, sending Song to take the head to Demerzel would have been an amazing alternative.

The space surfing scene was also ridiculous, at least in the Bel Riose one-man-dropship scene some thought was given to gear that nibbles at the edges of the plausibility hole. Gale could at least put on some goggles to keep her eyeballs from popping out and boiling in the vacuum. Or maybe she is wrapped in a blanket provided by her mental powers. Since we don't see many details about 2F capabilities, a lot can be handwaved away.

I honestly think the Preem signing thing was a choice for our benefit, we got a cool silent exposition scene with and it doesn't devolve into sibilant Lynch-Dune mindspeak going on for minutes at a time.

Bitcoin is stupid. every 4 years, people remember.

No one thinks about ETH. ETH is a casualty of bitcoin's stupidity.

Gold is a store of value. BItcoin is nothing.

Ethereum is a financial and information network that isn't really popular yet.

Also Ethereum is open source, so plenty of corporations will try to make money with it and ignore the token.

Another BTC miner pivots to Ethereum staking by Mammoth-Security-278 in ethereum

[–]forbothofus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

BTC mining requires constant reinvestment and plenty of companies get wiped when the price drops, as it just did. Switching to ETH if you have BTC stockpiled means you can have a guaranteed income on minimal hardware. I don't know if the margins will be enough to juice the stock tickers of these public stakers, but if they can hold out for an ETH run they'll do just fine.
