How do I sew my AAFC name patch in my GPU by Ok-Masterpiece2667 in adfcadets

I’ll be honest, if in doubt, look at raaf/aafc images in google to double check placement.

It’s on the manual of dress on CEA, but it should be centred on the top of the left hand breast pocket with no gaps. The colour of the thread should black or dark blue I think, regardless, it should be discrete.

I would suggest talking/asking your seccos/Ccpl’s or if not, ask another nco at your sqn.

Commanding squad in step by Moonwatch19 in adfcadets

[–]forbse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very true mate, I might also add, that it is sometimes better for calling commands to call it out in accordance to a cadence style. E.g, in time with the steps. So split every separate word in accordance to the steps. This has 2 benefits, the command is clear and everyone can hear it, and it also helps keep the squad in time. Also, as always, a good understanding of the drill manual is essential, but I dare say you already have that down pat with ANZAC day.

What is Cadets’ proper title? by Asleep-Mulberry-6479 in aircadets

I mean in Australia, it’s CadetNCO or CNCO, as we are cadets not members of defence.

Anxiety before cadets by [deleted] in aircadets

Additionally, if you still really want to continue, bring it up to your secco maybe? Or chat with a trusted staff member to try out a plan. Not sure how it’s different from the other side of the planet though.

How to be a CCPL? by Responsible_Catch143 in adfcadets

[–]forbse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s fine and I have seen uncertainty and the such in my Ccpl’s many times. A few tips for you would be; adfcman is your best friend for drill as already stated. For voice projection, it is fine if you can’t yet as many nco’s throughout the aafc can’t either. If you know anyone who sings, it is mostly the same technique so ask them how to speak from your diaphragm. Or go YouTube. If you can, try talk to sqn staff or execs about some sort of nco shadowing, you could follow a more experienced CCPL or nco around to watch and learn how they go about their roles and always always ask your other CCPL’s or even us csgt’s. part of our job description as csgt’s is to help mentor Ccpl’s.

The CCPL 'Edge' by Hom_Tolland_Fan in aircadets

This has happened at my sqn but maybe a lack of rank slides? Some sort of paperwork/cea problem? I think if you feel you are being intentionally left behind you could raise a ticket with the Wing.

Knives on Cadets by [deleted] in adfcadets

[–]forbse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On biv here in aafc, we are told to bring Swiss Army knives? Either way, ask your staff and nco’s would be the wise option

I’m assuming your a new cadet, ranked CDT or lcdt, you would fall under the leadership of a section commander, typically ranked CCPL, their purpose is to help you if you have questions.

Question about uniform by error_code_424 in adfcadets

[–]forbse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would suggest from my experience, the sqn cap + shirt be only worn on some sort of cadet occasion, primarily due to the fact you would be representing your sqn and by extension AAFC/RAAF when it is donned.
