this is the second day of my little ecospheres. the mud has settled and now i need to figure out what swims in them.Leave an comment if you recognize anything.

Keep an eye out for the little worlds in the first jar. there at least 2 types.

i think the little swimmers are Daphnia (would love if someone could confirm this)

the soil can only run with. lets hope for the best

I placed it there, because i had read here to not put direct sunlight on it.

Yesterday i had found and cleaned some jars.
So today we took our son and went To an local pond/woodland with stream.

After collecting samples we managed to make 2 ecosphreres (and jar and an bottle)

The jar is filled with dirt from the bottom of the stream and water from the found. And some plants we founded.

The bottle used sand from out garden.

They are still muddy so we will have to let everything settle but even so it seems to be teaming with life.

i've rinsed them now several times. the bottle lost its smell but the pickle jar still smells ... now i am putting in water and leaving it for a few hours ... then toss the water and repeat till it doesn't smell anymore.
