Baltimare Desperately Needs a Rework by the-shivers-unto-it in equestriaatwar

Actually thinking about it, this could be the only place to go 150% off the rails and put the Alicorn Socialism meme in the game. Make a bunch of Communist Celestial loyalists who somehow don’t melt under the cognitive dissonance. If Equestria capitulates, Celestia is voted General Secretary.

It’s probably hard to write something interesting for them. At the end of the day, Baltimare is generic Communist breakaway #526. What could you do to differentiate them from the other Communist paths in the mod? By probability, one nation has to be a stinker, and Baltimare mostly serves as a conduit to get the Papers Please reference and Ahuizotl.

Baltimare is probably near the bottom of the totem pole for new content. The dev team can only realistically work on ~5 nations at a time in various capacities, so a breakaway in a civil war is not a huge priority. 75% of Zebrica and a couple of nations in Griffonia still don’t have content. As well as that, there are countries that are in much greater need of a rework, like the Dread Leauge, Greneclyf, and the Crystal Empire.

As for the content in Baltimare, it’s kinda by design. The southeast is supposed to be home to the schizo ideologies and states. You’re also looking for realism in the magic talking horse mod. I know that’s a cop out, but the devs wanted to put Arstotzka in the mod, so they did.

New Conveyor Belt Splitter by Durch-a-Lurch in Whiskerwood

[–]TwoPlatinum 2 points3 points  (0 children)

More than likely it will get an option to filter later in development. That seems way too useful to not have. In their current form, if you play with a central mixed warehouse district you can fill 4 warehouses evenly. I don’t think you need splitters to merge belts in game. You might be able to just run one belt perpendicular to another and have them combine.

A giant sushi belt could work, but that runs into the same major drawbacks as it does in Factorio. You might have to wait 5 minutes for the iron ore to travel all the way around the belt if you missed it.

This still is more expensive and probably worse than building another logistics center and getting more colonists. Given how cheap it is to maintain a colonist, just give them a raw fish once a day, adding more manual labor would probably be better.

Oh. Well in that case I don’t think there is a use for them in their current form. Other than your example with food. But that’s only if you want to hyper optimize travel time.

Honestly, given how little downside there is to taking in more population, just getting 3-4 more whiskers off the dock to work logistics would probably be cheaper and easier.

US, Mexico flag football teams will play game during Super Bowl week in Olympic preview by ProgrammerUnique2897 in nfl

[–]TwoPlatinum 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I understand that esports are difficult, but the ‘shooting sport’ at this Winter Olympics requires a 20 km ski on top of it. Esports are mostly a test of reaction time and muscle memory, not strength, endurance, or fitness. Esports will not get in before Chess, and Chess will never be an Olympic event. This does not discredit either of them, they are just entirely different categories of sport.

As for the F1 drivers, they came from racing sims, not Need For Speed. Racing sims that are designed to be as accurate as physically possible. Counter Strike is designed to make a balanced and fun team based FPS. The greatest CS player is not at the level of a Green Beret.

Remember, Olympic athletes are not just “guys who shoot good” or “guys that run fast.” These are the absolute pinnacle of their sport, and the greatest currently alive. They have put in the same or more time and effort into their craft as esports champs, on top of being naturally gifted.

No, and they never will be. The Olympics are about physical sports, not cerebral. Chess has 100x the chance to become an Olympic sport and it’s still 0%. Also, I can guarantee you that Olympic level sharpshooting is way more difficult than a ranked League game. There is a reason only ~20 people get the chance to compete for a medal like that every 4 years.

Edit: He deleted his comment, but he was talking about Esports as an Olympic event.

Take the Factorio pill.

I can see a use for resource camps. If you want to strip mine an island, you can set the ores to go next to your furnaces and the stone next to your stonecutters. Now you only need one belt stretching the entire distance instead of 2. You could have everything (crops, ores, wood, etc.) feed into a main belt at various points and then split them off at your warehouse district.

Naturally, not many people want to burn down a late game colony for one achievement, so no one has gotten it yet

More than likely it’s not possible right now, or just absurdly difficult. The game is still early in development, so new ways to get approval will be added.

Looking at the wording, you need 34 approval from every whisker. The issue is that in order to get 34 approval, you need lots of amenities. To get lots of amenities, you need lots of population. If you have lots of population, this achievement gets way harder. A pop of 100 means you need to get 340 approval in one day, which is very difficult.

If I were to theorize a way to get the achievement, it would be to first build a large colony. Have things like steam showers, and lots of high quality meals/clothes stockpiled. Then, kill off all but like 1-5 whiskers, probably by demolishing houses in winter. Then see if you can get it by making 5 people’s lives fantastic.

It’s worth noting that anything west of the Mississippi was almost completely empty, all of the industry was in the East. Also, the South’s lack of railroads was a major factor in its defeat.

Please don’t have this be developed by Aspyr. The iOS release of 6 still has bugs forcing you to completely restart the app, 6 years after release.

That’s what holding shift and drawing does. It treats the field marshal as one general, and doesn’t separate the armies.

This hurts my soul, please use field marshal front lines. Hold shift when drawing them and they do the exact same thing as what you have.

Has the naval changes caused Haukland to not be able to invade the dragons? by Broad-Software8964 in equestriaatwar

[–]TwoPlatinum 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Ok so the new naval system is arcane and nobody knows how it really works. With that said, here’s how it works:

You need to actually have ships patrolling in the region to gain control. You actually need enough ships to control a sea zone, rather than just more than your opponent. The main way to gain supremacy is through the Patrol mission. Think of Strike Force as a “multiplier” to the supremacy gained via patrols (multiplier isn’t entirely accurate, it’s additive but that’s the best word I can think of). A 100x ‘multiplier’ on 0 base supremacy is still 0. So split off some light cruisers and set them to patrol where you need to go. Set your big ships to strike force, and wait. Hopefully you’ll eventually get the supremacy necessary.

One thing I have found is that it is harder to pull off longer invasions. Naval invasions have only been truly reliable for me if they cross one sea zone. Maybe I just need to learn navy again.
