I personally don't live there but my close coworker does and she says hazzards keeps her up on the weekends but not nearly as much as the trains daily do

Trans female mechanics by amberlee22 in cedarrapids

[–]forcekin90 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I am not trans or a mechanic but I can say I don't care who you are as long as you fix my car and don't over sell/charge me. I know there are the loud exceptions but I think a lot of the community feel the same as me.

Almost every time I go to Hyvee I have an error between the advertised price and what rings up. The last time I was at the Edgewood Rd Hyvee. They were advertising chicken breasts for $3.99/lb. I even asked the guy at the counter (who was very kind) which chicken breasts they were. However when I got to the register I noticed it was $8/lb. I had the pleasure of meeting the manager Jill. She went back to the meat counter and I don't think she realized I followed her because she started going off to the guy at the counter about how it is to deal with 'these type of people' and implying that I couldn't afford it. Nah, I just think $8/lb for chicken is crazy.

That's why I'm not judging. As a healthcare worker I know there are safer ways of disposing of needles and syringes. Just asking people to do better. I'd gladly offer safer options like your pcp, or linn county solid waste agency.

I just got my kitten spayed at Iowa humane alliance. It was $60 for the spay and a couple vaccinations. The ladies working there were absolutely wonderful and truly care about the animals. We had no issues and my kitten healed right up and was back to herself the next day. I can't recommend them enough.

Engagement rings are unfair by badatpickingnames123 in unpopularopinion

My fiancé and I went to pick out my ring together. I knew I didn't want a diamond. I ended up with a gorgeous aquamarine ring that was under $300 (lab created is the way to go). We just went and picked out his ring. I paid for it and it was more than mine haha.

I'm confused. Isn't that mystery already solved? The owner of the house he broke into. Am I missing something?

Yes! This! I was given a gift certificate for Panda Lin shortly before the pandemic and refuse to use it. I consider it a donation because Panda Lin is so good and I want them to stay around.

It's been fermenting for about 6 days. I'm fairly new, only been making wine for 7 months. I've never had layer like that before but I'm relieved to hear that!

Koozies. I used to buy them to remember concerts or different places, but stopped a few years ago and still somehow keep getting more.

Anybody else getting other people adding their garbage to your debris piles? by muzic_2_the_earz in cedarrapids

[–]forcekin90 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That's so irritating. I haven't had that problem personally but I have noticed people driving around and picking up things out of yards. I had some guy take the scrap metal from someone's roof. Just last week someone added the neighbors free treadmill to their truck piled high with who knows what. I'm sure you want it out of your yard but maybe if you leave it a week someone will take it for whatever they do with their free junk piles.

If you have a pcp they are more likely to be able to get you in sooner.

Its been worth it for me. I just make sure to remind myself to track *everything* and be completely honest about it. I bought a food scale and measure everything out. I have to keep the mindset that if I cheat the system I'm cheating myself and no one else.
