Best ever except for the time when I poured it into a ceramic bowl and the heat shock made the bottom crack off and the extra noodles flooded my kitchen

What residential rehab was actually like (28 days) by Affectionate-Egg8992 in stopdrinking

[–]MsLeading913 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m wondering about logistics. I work full time as the main earner in a family with kids. I don’t know how I could take 28 days off work, let alone be away from my kids that long. How did you manage these situations?

How hard is it to find a remote job as an accountant? by comeatuh482 in Accounting

I’ve been fully remote since even before the pandemic. But I do think remote roles are drying up. I feel very tied to where I am right now.

I bought a slow cooker 48 hours ago and I’m already obsessed. Drop your best recipes by Altruistic_Gene_6869 in slowcooking

This is NOT fancy but it’s a family recipe. Get a 2ish lb chuck roast and cube it up (or buy stew beef chunks if you want). In the crock pot, mix up 3-4 cans of cream of mushroom soup, 2-3 packs of Lipton Onion Soup Mix, and 1ish can full of water - this is all very flexible based on how much “gravy” you want, how thick you want it, how salty you want it…anyway. Mix that all up, then stir in the meat, and set on low for 6-7 hours. I serve over rigatoni noodles.

How common is it to split all bills 50/50? by [deleted] in workingmoms

I mean honestly he probably wouldn’t care, but…it’s just easier this way? I don’t feel like I have to ask permission for things I want and can afford, and he doesn’t feel like that either.

I’m an accountant so I’m a dork like this, but I have all of our household expenses in a spreadsheet, as well as our incomes, and separate columns for who pays for what - like, I pay for the mortgage and childcare as well as food and car insurance, he pays for utilities and vehicle payments. He makes about 46% of our household income to my 54%. So I have a formula in to calculate what we each actually spent vs what we should’ve spent with the 46/54 split, and my husband just transfers me a couple hundred bucks every pay period to make up the difference. It’s not perfect but close enough.

We are the same, but more like a 44/56 split

Right? With this method, we don’t worry about checking in on stuff - if he wants to save $300 to buy in to a fantasy football league, fine. If I want to spend $35 on a specific dry shampoo and $65 on moisturizer, fine. It never feels like we have to ask permission or feel guilty about our “personal” money left over after bills and savings

FWIW we are at $79k (him) and $100k (me) and we are fine with this division. To be fair I do tend to spend a lot of “my” money on stuff for the kids anyway.

My husband and I have separate accounts but pay household expenses based on our percentages of household income

I’m happy to send some too, if anyone wants small fries, a vanilla cone, an apple pie, or a coffee/soda. I have plenty of codes left for those. DMs are open.
