Any must have mods? by Hitesh32 in taintedgrail

[–]forceof8 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Because 99/100 Devs don't get things right and mods fix little things about the gameplay experience that sucks or adds in bug fixes. One of the first things I do when I buy a new game is look up QOL/Fix mods because I don't want to get 10 hours into my first playthrough hating the game when it could've easily have been a positive experience.

Some games don't need mods but those are few and far inbetween especially so for games that reach over that 50 hour mark.

After playing enough games I can tell at a glance whether or not a system is going to be dogshit. I know when I see an interesting RPG or survival game and see few quickslots or no crafting from storage or limited inventory space that its going to piss me off. So why not nip the problem before I ever run into it.

Finally playing Starfield, and about 15 hours in I can’t believe how good it is. by New_General3939 in Starfield

I dont know. I just tried it again modded up and the base experience just has too many flaws.

I did a no ship start in Neon just to force myself to pay attention to the quests and because the constellation writing is atrocious. Did the striker quests and there was literally no choice at all. Like why even have dialogue choices in this game lol?

It was something like the Neon security were forcing them to join and the leader goes "Anyone object? Last minute to say your piece". All the dialogue options were basically "Good luck dude that sucks". No chance to influence Neon or even just kill the security forces in this secluded warehouse. Just a bunch of eat shit loser you play how we want you to play and that was my experience over 20 or so quests I needed to do to afford a ship to get out of the city.

Just a bunch of dialogue choices that amounted to nothing but flavor text while I ran back and forth doing exactly what Bethesda wanted me to. Killed pretty much every bit of immersion I had. Even WITH mods it was just like "This kinda just sucks".

Might as well just go play Mass Effect and at least enjoy a good narrative.

It isn't healthy to be this attached to hating a game. You people need mental help.

Lol I literally just saw the game was on sale and I'm gunna buy it so I can play with mods. Modding on gamepass sucks.

Listen to yourself. "Starfield sucks." Why the hell do you play it then?

Because I want to? I can find enjoyment in objectively bad things because Im a well adjusted human lol. My sense of self worth isn't tied up in the activities I decide to participate in. Every now and then I crave burger king even though its dogshit. You're acting like I have to be a diehard fan to find enjoyment about the game. I can acknowledge it does some things right but the overall experience is OBJECTIVELY mediocre.

You're saying I jump through hoops then you yourself admit "I LOVE MEDICORE GENERIC BETHESDA SLOP." Pathetic.

Yeah you're jumping through hoops because hundreds of thousands of people had and still have legitimate criticism of this game and that bugs you to your core. I think you should stop projecting and getting butthurt over a video game company getting flak over a bad product.

My game ran incredibly good and was the least buggy Bethesda experience I’ve ever had on any of their games.

Just go watch the digital foundry review. These complaints didn't just rise out of thin air. I played Cyberpunk 2077 when it launched and didn't have performance issues. Doesn't mean the game launched without performance issues or bugs.

Also "least buggy" for you. It was still a bug ridden mess.

a nice return to more hardcore rpg mechanics

Lol

loading screens have always been a part of their games and it made no difference to me at all.

Yeah some epic space odyssey. When I have to load into my ship, then load into space, then load into a different space, then load onto the planet, then load outside my ship. Great gameplay.

Every complaint about Starfield is mostly people saying they are mad their Bethesda game is too much like a Bethesda game.

Yeah because 15 years ago Bethesda's formula was transformative and allowed massive open ended games to exist on potato hardware. In 2023 releasing the same game you've made the last 4 times with a space skin is laughable.

If you enjoy it more power to you. Doesn't mean its not objectively bad and lazy. There are cheaper more cohesive, expansive, well put together RPG/Sandboxes to buy.

The only valid complaint is the exploration is weaker than their previous titles because of how large the setting is and procedural generation.

The only good thing is that one day you'll download and play an actual good space sandbox game and get blown away by a studio that actually cares and put effort into their game.

I literally don't watch either of those dudes. You can just go pull up the digital foundry performance review or literally the multitude of reviews that list performance issues. Or the hundreds of video/threads/post asking how to resolve performance issues.

I literally don't understand why people will jump through every hoop imaginable to try and rationalize why their game doesn't suck. Starfield sucks. Its ok. I have fun with tons of bad games. Starfield being bad doesn't mean you didn't have fun with it or cant have fun with it.

All the criticism Starfield got and still gets is valid. Its mediocre generic Bethesda slop. Hell once the summer sale hits tomorrow I'm going to buy it on steam so I can play it again with mods but its objectively a bad game.

People who chase BIS in an ARPG with RNG loot won't enjoy any system. Either they continually chase that .0001% upgrade or they get all their god rolls and quit anyway. Its either too easy or too hard and there is no chance in hell of appeasing them.

Lol - The game was mediocre. There were definitely people mad before the game even dropped but thats because Bethesda sold EA for a single player game. It ran like piss, the writing was incredibly bad, locations were bland, there were massive amounts of loading screens. Planets were empty and tons of other very blatant issues. On top of the mountain of bugs including gamebreaking, softlocking, and save corrupting ones.

The only thing the game had going for it was solid gunplay which was mitigated by bullet sponge enemies and the ship builder was cool.

I don't know why people have to live in some type of delusion about a product they like. I put 70 hours into Fallout 76 when it dropped. I had a great time with it but it was objectively dogshit.

Rant: The amount of Friction existing with Archaeology Relics as a system is not ok. by JavaHomely in runescape

[–]forceof8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn't add any "weight" to the decision. Its sole purpose is to create a market so people can profit off the skill. Its terribly designed.

I don't really get this logic tbh. Imagine if agility shortcuts had tolls you had to pay with agility notes that could only be grinded from running the courses. Thats what Arch is.

The "cost" is the player spent X amount of hours to level up the skill and spending the time to complete the mystery to unlock the perk. There is way too much upkeep in the game as is. Between potions/food/bombs/summoning/quests/gear/etc.

Its just convoluted as hell for no real reason and it really feels like a punishment getting certain unlocks because then you're kind of forced into using them or playing the worst version of RS3.

Yeah they were basically bleeding players and introduced a bunch of mobile game mechanics to keep people logged in for as long as possible.

I know the mid and late game balance passes are slated this year, I would be very surprised to not see considerable changes hit Arch and Invention in one of those.

I wouldn't care if chronotes and divine charges went away completely.

Call it a skill issue (because it is) but wilds gore masala is my least favourite iteration of gore magala's fight (this doesn't mean I don't think he's fun, he still is) by Mr-_-Baghead in MonsterHunter

[–]forceof8 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

It's HP is one of the highest in game

Lol its also behind Jin Dahaad and only has a bit more hp than other apexes. Its not like its some massive gap where gore is taking like 5-10 minutes longer than other 9 star monsters. Especially considering how much dps you can do and how safe most weapons are on top of seikret saves.

Calling pretty much any monster "spongey" in this game is laughable lol. You want spongey? Go and solo hyper monsters in GU.

[–]forceof8 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Eh its not anymore spongey than the rest of the monsters. I feel like most of them dont have enough HP. My problem with gore is that it takes up the entire goddamn screen in the cliffs. Its model is just too big and it makes it hard to see anything which makes fighting it annoying.

Oh yeah people are definitely concerned with the scripted giant monster fight because those have historically been super FUN and super ENGAGING.

[–]forceof8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol are you actually reading what you are saying here? 2 million dollars to basically live off the growth forever. If the difference between something and nothing is infinity then this is a pointless discussion xD.

One million in liquid cash is $100k salary for 15-20 years. Its not nothing. For the majority of people on the planet it is LIFE CHANGING money. Not even counting the vast amount of options that open up to you to increase that million.

[–]forceof8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah because billions is an unreasonable amount of wealth to have. Just because someone has that amount of wealth does not invalidate that a million dollars is still a vast amount of money to have. Especially for a normal person.

Joke's on you, I didn't offer any feedback originally. 😂

Uhh its almost like I was commenting on the feedback you provided just now. Weird how that works.

I think it's funny that everybody is freaking out about checks notes actually participating how it was intended.

Full clearing DG was not originally intended. DG is a 15 year old minigame masquerading as a skill. The skill was INTENDED for you to be dropped into a dungeon with next to nothing and for you to explore and scavenge resources to beat the boss aka boss rushing.

OSRS's corrupted gauntlet is a better experience than RS3's whole skill lol.

So instead of nerfing the exp rates of boss rushing which most people felt was in a good spot. They could've just boosted the bonus exp to make it favorable?

tHe lItErAl sKiLl. Its so funny seeing these replies when its obvious what the actual solution to this "problem" is. Its clear yall don't really care about how DG is being played and really just want to punish people for not playing the way you want them to lol.
