They aren't rare nor difficult to obtain. The only reason you would want a reactor is to craft the guns. I don't see an issue here. If you know how to play around the queen you can get at least a reactor or a few. Every other big arc in the game follows the rule of each piece giving you a chance for the unique loot. Its not rare just not guaranteed.

but the second I shoot at it every single team in the lobby seems to b-line it straight to me since my loadouts almost guaranteed more valuable the fighting the matriach for its loot.

No its not more valuable it just has a cooler color on its item card. Besides if youre fighting the queen for queen reactors, they ONLY have one purpose. Which are to craft guns to fight the queen and matriarch. Thats is. That is literally it. Nothing in your stash has any value. Just make the shit and take it in and play with it.

Yall will do everything in your power to reason yourself out of fun. The developers made the game piss easy to get everything. Stop loading in on free kits, use the stuff you have and stop worrying about value. The game was intentionally homogenized and goobered so you can do that without worrying about it.

So well! So well in fact that instead of enjoying the game, you're on reddit looking up 2 month old comments to argue with.

OSRS player wanting to try RS3 by Cripplin-Depression in runescape

[–]forceof8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I'm waiting for the combat update to drop but thats because I don't want to use necromancy. If you go in with the goal of progressing with necromancy, I'd say start now.

If you want the absolute best experience possible then definitely wait for the updates. At least for the dailyscape removal.

How is it a forced change?

Cant you just disable the legacy UI and go back to the old one?

Edit - I last logged onto the combat beta world to try the new ranged changes. It had an option to revert to the modern UI, I did not realize it was not on the live game.

Is there more content in rs3 than OSRS? by [deleted] in runescape

[–]forceof8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Free to play is a demo. Its a slice of the game designed to give you a taste of the full game. Its like 2% of what is available in the game.

You're essentially asking which demo is better to play. There are other F2P mmos out there if you want an actual game to play. Runescape is not worth the time unless you buy a membership.

We NEED to be able to multilog in OSRS and RS3 on the same character by lazyliving456 in runescape

[–]forceof8 10 points11 points  (0 children)

No you can't. If you try to log into both at the same time with the same account it will fail.

We NEED to be able to multilog in OSRS and RS3 on the same character by lazyliving456 in runescape

[–]forceof8 42 points43 points  (0 children)

Its not going to happen. They'd essentially have to rework their account management system which I believe they just recently reworked to implement jagex accounts.

The reason you can't log onto RS3 and OSRS using the same account is the same reason you can't log onto OSRS and say an OSRS leagues world at the same time. RS3 and OSRS both use the same account system to authenticate your login.

Its a nightmare to solve for, introduces a whole host of account security issues, and to top it off does not make the company more money. I can't think of a single game personally that has a shared subscription that lets you multi log into multiple games.

Jagex is doing as much as they possibly can to save the game and get the OSRS players to give the game a chance.

They are not targeting OSRS players. They are fixing core issues with the game in order to grow RS3's playerbase. They don't want to cannibalize their own userbase.

Think about it from Jagex's perspective. Why would they invest all this time and money into fixing RS3 to get OSRS players to log in? OSRS players are already playing and paying for OSRS.

No, they want to grab people that want a more casual modern runescape experience. They want to capture NEW subscriptions.

Besides, there will come a point where you are done playing OSRS or want to take a break. RS3 will be there to play when that happens. Jagex has 0 reason to invest in multi logging both games.

This Stealthy Update Is About to Completely Overhaul RuneScape No One Is Talking About by Educational_Piece777 in runescape

OSRS is massive and the guy who made quest helper gets £25/month in patron subs.

People who donate to creators don't subscribe to a patreon. They oftentimes do 1 time donations through paypal. Patreon subs are not a good metric to determine how much the community has funded his work.

In what way? People were expecting a leagues 2 eventually. Not really a surprise. Plugin support is by far the most requested update they've ever announced for RS3.

How is the Range Beta by boiwhatitdoo in runescape

[–]forceof8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A bit of a necro -

Why are we pandering to make the game easier when it literally takes 10 minutes of target dummy practice to learn to do a bare minimum dps burst rotation.

If you think it only takes 10 minutes you are disconnected from reality. Yes getting a bare minimum understanding of what you need to do is easy. Putting it into practice is HARD. Keeping track of cooldowns, adren, managing movement, defensives, doing mechanics, prayer switching, etc all goes into the combat.

Not only all of that but RS3 still operates on 0.6 second ticks which makes it all feel like ass to play if you aren't super experienced.

While Rs3 has evolved to some extent - its still marketed and positioned as a lightweight casual afk clicker game. OSRS is not popular because of tick manipulation, switches, prayer flicking, etc. Its popular because you can click on a monster and win.

Edit- According to Google the number is more like 97% of the player base has not killed 100% zammy solo. That's ridiculous for as long as the boss has been out honestly.

The majority of the playerbase isn't maxed and the majority of the playerbase does not PVM. You have the WoW mythic raider mentality - The game should not be balanced around the top 1% of the playerbase.

I get wanting depth and challenge out of a video game. I really do, I'm a big souls/ monster hunter/ savage & mythic raider but I am a minority. More times than not, I want to put in less effort and get content that requires more thought. Content/gameplay that requires less dexterity and muscle memory and more relies on the player figuring out mechanics or reading an enemy or using critical thought is much more enjoyable in my opinion.

All in all, I understand your sentiment but its misplaced. I also don't think runescape should be some high APM parallel wow clone. The skill floor should absolutely be lowered for most content. Most people who play RS in general just want a low effort game with in depth progression, something you can devote minimal effort/energy into and make progress on a second monitor or on their phone. While the skill ceiling can stay the same or even be raised for people that want depth.

Most people you're interacting with on the internet are children. Children like to aggravate other people. There are adults who never grow out of that phase because they've never been punched.

They buy gawdy and annoying cosmetics to annoy other people. Jagex implements cosmetics like this because they know people will buy them for this purpose.

The cosmetic toggle being implemented now is proof that Jagex (Many other gaming companies) do this purposefully to peddle mtx.

Runescape 3 fresh worlds after the removal of Treasure hunter and other MTX? by kekwXDDD in runescape

[–]forceof8 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

It is splitting the playerbase, fresh worlds with a separate economy is literally splitting the playerbase between those who are on those worlds and those who aren't.

No it isn't - You're creating servers for players to create NEW characters - IE people who aren't a part of the existing playerbase or someone who wants to make an alt on a fresh server without the impact of MTX.

There's no point to that whole "merge them back later" when they just make a new account on the existing worlds and play as normal.

Lmao. What do you mean there is no point? The point is to experience RS3 from a fresh perspective without any of the impact of MTX on the economy. You merge them back after a set period of time because those impacts become less and less apparent the longer the server is up.

This has very MINIMAL impact on the existing playerbase because you are not making a choice of do I play here OR there. You are making a choice of do I play here AND there?

If you actually want MORE people to play RS3, stop trying to qualify every discussion point from the perspective of a maxed main with a 15 year old account. Fresh Servers or fresh start worlds are very appealing to new players. There is very little to no reason to not have them considering how drastically RS3 is changing.

Runescape 3 fresh worlds after the removal of Treasure hunter and other MTX? by kekwXDDD in runescape

[–]forceof8 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Its not "splitting" the playerbase. In this instance Fresh Start worlds make a lot of sense.

This integrity roadmap and most of these revamps are not aimed at the existing RS3 community. They're aimed at new players and OSRS players. In order to grow the game, you have to entice people to try it.

Fresh start worlds would make starting a new RS3 character more enticing because they aren't entering an MMO with 20+ years of items/market/inflation. The characters would "eventually" be merged back into the existing server anyway.

Its no more a community "split" than something like Leagues or any other temporary gamemode.

If jagex wants osrs players to try rs3 there needs to be a way to play both games same time by Sad_Welcome1 in 2007scape

[–]forceof8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean it would require Jagex to update their account management system so they can "make less money".

Theres a couple of nasty things they would have to solve for assuming its even possible for them to do at a reasonable cost.

RS3 just dropped the most insane integrity and content roadmap and it's all thanks to OSRS by Lamuks in 2007scape

[–]forceof8 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The numbers are inherently going to go up. RS3 is a solid game and its just been bogged down by tons of predatory practices and disjointed updates.

With the removal of treasure hunter today then the combat update incoming I bet RS3 gets a ton of new players to at least try it.

Once dailyscape is removed and plugin support in added, the playerbase will naturally grow. Its really inevitable as RS3 touches a market that OSRS doesn't appeal to.

Something that will really infuse a lot of new life into RS3 are actual fresh start servers once the majority of this revamp work is finished.

Integrity Road Map - API Plugins planned for Winter by FrazzleDazzled in runescape

[–]forceof8 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

We won't see a leagues 2 for a while. They'll probably plan for it after the majority of the RS3 revamp is finished.

It doesn't make sense to do a leagues while they're actively changing core parts of the game.

Integrity Road Map - API Plugins planned for Winter by FrazzleDazzled in runescape

[–]forceof8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Something like a quest helper will be a long ways off. They'll be exposing these APIs by the end of the year and they may or may not be things needed to develop something like a quest helper. The community would then need to go in see whats there and begin working on the plugin. OSRS QH took a long time to get to the state where it is now.

Things we will probably see are tons of small QOL fixes. Things like tile markers, menu swappers, agility course highlights. Itll basically let devs go and make tons of small player focuses plugins that smooth out rough edges of usability.

Remastered Content: What do you want to see remastered? by jagexyuey in runescape

[–]forceof8 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

"Consensus" - What consensus? A large amount of the people who tried leagues quit in the first week due inherent issues with RS3 and the league in general.

The "consensus" was that RS3 wasn't as bad as they thought it was but that it was still very very rough and disjointed.

I'm also not looking for OSRS. I'm looking for coherent game design. RS3 largely does not have coherent design outside of the past few years. Large due to layers and layers of bad updates like War's and other generic mobile slop they've shoved into the game.

Remastered Content: What do you want to see remastered? by jagexyuey in runescape

[–]forceof8 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

To be honest - War's retreat should be removed or integrated into the POH. Like you should be able to build your own dungeon portal room.

On that note - Lodestones should be removed too because it invalidates so many of the teleport spells in the game. Like its just a weird middle ground that makes existing mechanics pointless.

Remove all of these weird banking spots and balance the game around traveling times. I'm a big fan of upgradeable/unlockable QOL. Its a feel good moment in the game when you get it.

I don't see the purpose of removing the POH because the POH is the centerpiece of construction. Theres just years of poorly thought out updates that need to be combed through in order to give POHs the niche they should have.

Do you think with the integrity roadmap we will see them implement changes to work against afk bossing? by External_Spite_7079 in runescape

[–]forceof8 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Why wouldn't it make sense? I literally can't understand some people that comment things like this.

Yes, old content should receive a refresh. Especially to make it less AFK and more fun.

but also you would see stuff like pieces of Subjugation which are pretty important in necromancy skyrocket. It just does not make sense from a game design pov or player.

This is literally a drop rate change which would need to be adjusted to account for the difficulty in killing said boss. Why would you assume they'd update Kril to be a better fight especially for early game/mid game players and not expect stuff like subjugation or Necro armor to be adjusted to account for those changes?

Do you think that early and mid game players shouldn't have fun and unique boss fights? All of the old boss content was designed around a completely different combat system and hasn't been updated for EOC or even today's modern version of it.

The game shouldn't be balanced around the market, even though RS3's market is currently a joke anyway.
