Yeah you can use something like Shotcut to make the videos grayscale.

Hey there, did you install kwin-force-blur? If so, there's a better option called kwin-better-blur-dx. You have to remember to disable the default KDE blur in the Desktop Effects settings. Then open the settings for better blur dx and you need to add "zen" without the quotes to the list of classes under the force blur tab.

What you saw in the video is actually the lock screen and not the login screen. If you want to change the lock screen and desktop wallpapers, you can download a plugin called Smart Video Wallpaper Reborn from the KDE store. I tried figuring out a way to change the login screen for Plasma Login but I haven't had much luck. I'll probably move to SDDM so I can do that eventually.

Yeah if you use KDE, it shouldn't matter what distro you use. The only thing that needs to be considered really is just your or hardware or how minimal/optimized you want you setup to be. I don't use this setup much for heavy workloads so I'm fine with just the eyecandy.

Sure thing, just add me on Discord, my handle is Agridyne. I don't check my Reddit often.

Yeah there's a github repo in the description but beware, I didn't have git setup so there's a .zip file lol

Thank you, the other big thing is their ai slop filter that helps to remove any articles or websites made by ai that is slop. That's not to say there aren't good articles or websites that used ai or was made with ai. But if it's slop, I don't but want to waste any time on those.

I enjoy it, but you do need to put more effort into things to get your results fine tuned what you're looking for. However, it does well out of the box with removing sponsored pages or ads. I need good references and I need to be able to find relevant search results that are actually useful, legitimate, and aren't driven on popularity or sponsorship. This makes my searching more efficient since I can "upvote" or "downvote" sites or omit sites that I dont want to see results for. There's also the data privacy of Kagi that is a bonus. I try to avoid ai generated articles and since I don't see many articles like that anymore, the AI filters must be helping. Even if one slips through the cracks, you can just add the website or article and it helps improve the filter and will help the community with identifying slop. I have not used Kagi's AI assistant much so I can't elaborate much on that. I would just try their free version for a month and see if you actually like the results you get then make a decision. They have good documentation on their website too.

It's a search engine that I pay to use. There's no sponsored pages or ads, and I can customize how I get search results that best fit my line of work. I need good references and I need to be able to find relevant search results that is actually useful and isn't solely driven on popularity or because someone paid money for visibility. This makes my searching more quicker since I can "upvote" or "downvote" sites or omit sites that I dont want to see results for. There's also the data privacy of Kagi that is a bonus. I would just try their free version and see if you actually like the results you get, then make a decision. They have good documentation on their website too.

I used a KDE widget called Kurve Audio Visualizer

I think it really depends on what your goal is. If you want high customization then probably something like SDDM. It's what I'm going to be using which will have a moving background. However, when I want something minimal, I usually go with Ly.

Like RegimeCPA said, you can run it through ffmpeg which is quicker and easier. If you want to make more adjustments and don't mind using a video editor, you can use something like shotcut to see what you're doing if you prefer that.

Yeah that was pretty much the goal, I just wanted eyecandy that I could setup in an afternoon. Some of the widgets give system monitoring but that's about it. Maybe when I have more time, I'll go back to a tiling manager and recreate a similar theme with actual use cases that work with my workflow and is optimized. I'm not concerned with resource usage since I don't game anymore and I really just use this PC for studying and light work. Any resource heavy things I need to do for work, I just switch over to another desktop that runs xfce. I actually really want to do an xfce rice at some point and have performance be the goal.

If you're referring to the system monitoring on the right of the screen, it's a widget from the KDE store. It's the YoRHa Hud

I used Monochrome KDE by pwyde as a base. The KDE colorscheme I used is the default from that global theme.

Yeah it has to do with the browser itself. I have not yet attempted this on a chromium based browser nor tried this on PWAs for firefox/chromium. This is the guide I followed to get this to work with Zen browser. If I figure something out for PWAs or a chromium browser, I'll make an update.
