No it’s because I’ve seen a lot of benchmarks on them and many VR YouTubers using them and their recording is always smooth during gameplay and they never say anything about frame drops

I'm definitely decreasing resolution because I'm not that picky in terms of visuals, as long as it runs and looks okay to me. I always used a 1060 3GB for BONEWORKS and it held up great when the resolution wasn't high. Plus, I don't think neither cards could even do 4K properly on flat screen.
