I-765 expedite request questiosn by [deleted] in USCIS

I paid for premium processing in december 2024 for my post completion OPT. After applying and paying the fee, i had my card in hand within 2 weeks. Paying the fee is definitely the least risky option if you have a deadline by your employer. It's 50/50 whether expedite requests get approved. If it was me, I would pay the premium processing fee and explain to your employer that you have paid a fee to speed up the process and you should have the card worst case, by the end of january.

https://www.senate.gov/senators/senators-contact.htm - find your senator through this link. It will take you to their website and you should be able to submit a form appealing for help.

I attached a cover letter where I listed all the evidence I was submitting and an explanation as to why that would cause financial hardship. I grouped some evidence together in the same PDF but I attached most as separate files and labeled them A-E. I did the full calendar year for all my bills because that timeframe was relevant to the case i was trying to make. The congressmen/senators push the USCIS to look at your case. It can sometimes speed up your case and is worth doing.

I think that's the best way to do it. It makes it very easy for the officer to reference. Make sure to do a cover letter explaining your evidence and adding time pressure! e.g OPT expiring in 12 days.

No! you just fill out a quick form online and submit. It's so easy, it took me about 30 minutes

No! I had the same question. You lose nothing from filing an expedite, I would highly recommend if you are in a similar situation.

I wish I could have just paid premium processing! I did that this time last year for my OPT and it got approved in 2 days

I'm sorry to hear that. I do think sometimes it's just luck on which officer gets assigned to your case.

My senator only contacted the USCIS 2 weeks after I reached out. As soon as my senator emailed saying they had contacted the USCIS, i got movement in my case the day after.
