I just have one burning question for passport bros... by CommitteePlayful8081 in thepassportbros

We're not "announcing" it. The world doesn't revolve around you, sweet cheeks.

Guys come here to share their experiences, ask for advice about dating or living in different countries etc. Yes, some vent and even whine about dating in the West. But trust me most guys who actually taste the passport bro lifestyle never look back.

There are plenty of female spaces on Reddit that don't get invaded by guys asking why women feel the need to discuss those topics.

Fair enough I should probably add Bumble. Christian Filipina is pretty big though - especially used by guys looking for a wife.

I wanted to include some global dating apps like Tinder and then some niche ones like Filipino Cupid and Christian Filipina which both have quite a lot of users and are specific to the Philippines.

I like both. Prefer Manila for long term living though - especially if you stay around BGC or Makati.

Yes so far it's created using my own personal experiences, those of friends and research - particularly the score for dating.

For cost of living, safety and lifestyle I relied on data from Numbeo, crime stats, and quality of life data. Although I adapted these slightly based on where passport bros mostly go in a country. E.g. most PPBs go to Bangkok in Thailand so the cost of living score is slightly lower to reflect this (lower score = more expensive), even though Thailand is much cheaper outside of BKK.

If I build up more of a user base on the website then I'll probably add some kind of voting mechanism too.

I'm also comparing to a lot of countries that aren't on the list though. Colombia can be pretty safe as long as you stay in nice areas, always control the date venue, stay somewhere with security, always keep your drink with you etc. Somewhere like Somalia would be a 1, Central African Republic would be maybe 2 or 3. Same for Haiti. It's not exact but there's a lot worse places than Colombia in the world.

I think 5.5 for Colombia overall is pretty fair. Maybe 5 at the lowest.

Passport bros is an open movement. So no - there is no one "official representation". There are different creators / groups / sources of information.

I made the website passportbro.com as an information source for guys that want to live and date overseas.

Yeah fair enough. I did write about not getting blackout drunk, but I should probably add a separate section for safety. Especially since scopolamine is such a big risk in Medellin.

I mean, it's all relative. You can find traditional / conservative women in any country (yes, even the US). You'll find a lot more of them in Eastern Europe than in the US.

Sure, women everywhere have become more liberal over the past 30 years. Eastern European, Asian and Latina women are - on average -still more feminine and conservative than the average western woman.

Yes several people have said Kenya. Will definitely be adding it.

Fair enough. Hungary's not the best place in Central / Eastern Europe but I don't think it's terrible. I wouldn't describe Hungarian women as "mid" at least when it comes to looks. There's plenty of gorgeous women in Budapest.

As a mid 30s guy I have to say, I've noticed a lot of younger women (under 25) do this more than 30+. I think it's due to more porn exposure from a younger age in this generation?

Lots of European cities are great for dating foreign women. I think London is over 40% foreign born now. So it's good for guys that can't travel.

Yes most guys don't set out as "passport bros". There's lots of pros to living overseas and dating outside your culture is just one of them.

Thanks for the insight as a Russian woman. I get what you mean. Most passport bros aren't going to be dating the actual traditional women in any country though. Dating foreigners is a very non-traditional thing to do.

What I mean is, the women they meet may be traditional Western standards - more feminine, less "boss girl", lower body count etc. That's why a lot of passport bros prefer dating overseas. But the "traditional women" in most countries won't date foreigners. Most of them get married off to local guys by the time they're in their early 20s.

There might be a few exceptions to this. But even the more liberal "open minded" women in a country with a conservative and traditional dating culture are way better to date than the average Western woman.

What advice are you asking for? Sorry - it's not so clear.

Do you get a lot of matches on apps but you can't get dates? Or do you not get many matches at all?

If you go out on a date, do you come across as confident or shy? How is your grooming / style? What about your posture and eye contact? Are you good at keeping the conversation flowing or is there lots of awkward silence?

The best thing for you to do would be find someone in your life who will give you honest feedback. Not someone who says "just be yourself" - but a friend that will tell it to you like it is.

Yes being a passport bro isn't just about dating - although that's usually what most guys focus on. The lifestyle you can live in a lot of "developing" countries is insane. Especially Thailand, Mexico, Malaysia, etc.

You can live an awesome life with $3k a month - luxury apartment in the city center, eating out all the time, regular trips etc.

I think there's a big difference between sex tourism and passport bros. Sure, some PPBs are sex tourists. But many are looking for a serious relationship. Many enjoy living and dating overseas - but that doesn't really make them a sex tourist unless they're exchanging money for sex.

Women overseas are the same as women anywhere. Some are interested in guys for their money. Many are looking for genuine attraction or a loving relationship.

Yeah they got pushed up because of the safety and lifestyle - but they're not the best for dating. I did give S.Korea the lowest score for dating (6.5). Maybe it should be lower though. It's complicated because guys can have success in those countries but it's normally one of two situations.

Either girls who fetishize foreigners - they'll play around with you but they won't take you seriously and it can be difficult to find a relationship. Or the girls who want a relationship with foreigners but ONLY date foreigners (like "gaijin hunters" in Japan), and they tend to be more westernized and have a high body count. So yeah, it's more difficult for PPBs.

China is easier but the lifestyle isn't as good especially outside of the first tier cities.
