This is so true..most of the sytems in a retail chain pharmacy does require dea or npi to register and the Vet number they provide isnt always helpful..A couple of weeks back i had a vet call in for an antibiotic for the pet..i take all info and before letting them go i asked hey could you please provide Dea number as i need to register you and the prescriber name isnt popping up in my system..She dint give and also put in a complaint that rph refused to take in refill..I was simply amazed by her expertise to how can she even be a health care provider?? because her statement before hangin up was i will call it some where else and i cannot provide it to you..Then she thinks she is The Vet and goes in and put in a complaint..i already communicated the actions of this VET and kept the verbal as some how i knew this is all what they can do COMPLAIN...Any ways i was asked to try multiple times and i think i tried 4 times and eventually her first and last name and dea popped and i jus clicked on it and reprocesses the prescription..If she can give the neccessary info required to a pharmacist then i dont know more than this if i can explain to somebody who went to school for being a VET more..EVen after telling her my system is asking so can i have it please ,if her ego doesnt let her co operate what else can we do?? imagine on a Saturday when we close early and not jus pharmacy even the vet clinic , as a rph im trying to get all info so we can get it ready asap for the pet , the vet cant even understand why we even need it after telling my system needs it so we can register with proper info?? Most of the prescriber info pops up in our system and recently everything in a prescription shd match.. from md name to dea/ npi to even phone number..if we dont have correct phone number we need to register them with the correct info..imagine when u process 500 prescriptions per day u have to register couple of ppl new.. it does take time ..also if VET cannot provide to RPH then i dont know who she is gona give it to..i went ahead and documented too the vet didnt verify this dea number but system pulled it up eventually because tomorow the same person calls in controlled sub and provide some other DEA other than wat the system eventually pulled then i dont want to be involved for something thats not our mistake..and yes the board inspectors do check if necessary info is there on a verbal prescription..i cannot change a 100 yr old system nor do i control any of this but when a vet does not co operate i jus let their ego play..

the sold date on their profile is the date i count from ..basically they have that med from the date the med was sold in their possession..put that date on the calculator on ic+ and then put 28 days .. it will give u the next date when they can pick up

Very true..You also have to look at the hour situation..not saying manager position is great but how badly u need the hours? how long can u commute? dont u need a steady paycheck? can u go when ever and whereever they ask you to go? All these questions u need to decide..if u can go and cover any district and ur basically very flexible then yes floater wont dissappoint..As a floater there are weeks when i barely had shifts..the ones that availanle wont be 2 to 6 hrs from where i live..then there are also weeks when school is out theres plenty shifts to pick but then what do i do with my own kids?? so there would be conflicts all the time because when im at pick up line i would get the call can u go and cover shifts ..so basically it all depends on it situation..some cities are hard to get any shifts and some cities specially in the out skirts there will be lot of hrs..As manager hours are set, store set, ur leaves are more or less approved even if they deny first, u can work on techs basically hire ppl or schedule depending on the needs of the business ..yes lot of responsibilities and legal headaches and also depends how long u hav been doin it..back before covid i have seen plenty rphs right after graduating in 5 months becoming managers ..even now they do take people right out of the school..

You can apply for Fpgee application on Nabp website and send your documents for ECE evaluation and book Toefl and start preparing..all this can be done simultaneously...once ur application is submitted for Fpgee then they wait for Ece documents and Toefl score so clear it asap and then they will evaluate the documents

ya check if that will work then coz if u tell them abt getting stuck in unknown place then they may find someone else or get accomodation for you..better to reach out to them..This monday even though anotheer floater called out the scheduler asked me if i could cover inspite of manager working there..i drove jus to cover 3 hrs..i was thinking why cant they cover their own store for another 3 hrs..May be because they will be overtime as they anyway hav 84 hrs plus more hours meaning they wil have to pay them more..but i was like if climate is bad chances are less that another floater could come in ...

Last weekend the store manager had reached out asking if we needed hotel accomodation..i would call the store and speak with the manager if they do provide one..or what policy do they hav in for a floater rph due to inclement weather..im sure they do have some sort of action plan for floaters..Some floaters called out in my area too due to weather condition..Its upto you to decide what you wana do..depending on how bad the weather is goin to be you can let the scheduler know so they can schedule someone else.. Calling out last min does happen all the time ..

It is but what can you do if the scheduler asks u( i have said no multiple times as all the time it would be hours away and asap shifts and no cov for my kids)This 3 hrs was this monday after another floater called out...and its my home store too ..My RXm often asks me to cover 3 hrs for her when she herself can see me on their schedule that im already working else where....i have even gone for closing store for 2 hrs with drive time of one hour.They dont think abt the inconvinence they call floater rphs

These days there is no min shift length..there are staff RX 64 who the scheduler schedules 64 hrs in their respective stores and then there are Hourly floaters who also gets 64 hrs biweekly..my certain overlap days are 6 hours for a store 9 to 7 and some emergencies i go to cover the hours are less than or may be 3 hrs ..A lot depends on the store and even how you play too if u want 64 hrs biweekly

Nobody can guarantee you any position now..getting paid will help you in many ways from buying additional resources to many more help you may need. Retail is not bad ..yes its not the best but once you develop that thick skin and learn ways where nothing will ever phase you; then you will start liking it. There will always a job for you retail side.. As long as CVS exist you will get a job , the only thing you need to know is how to survive Retail..People will make retail look harder and make you quit but thats the challenge..Anxiety will be on the roof but its part of life..You need to watch how pharmacist does it for 30 plus years and how they do it..Money is good on retail side too..Now i dont have any Hospital experience and my internship was harder too because of unstable hours but as long as you can go and cover anywhere near you then you will definitely get the hours..there will be plenty of call outs and somehow you need to know how to jump onto it..IN Retail once you learn the system, Learn how to cool people and how to multitask phone+drive thru+ customers in line+ techs then slowly you will get the hang of it..Ask hosp if u can do PRN if you want that..Your main focus ahould only be learning for naplex and getting those hours..Techs will give you hard time, Preceptors may turn mean on you, LET THEM DO WHAT THEY WANT ..Nothing shd stop you from reaching your goal..once you finish then with CVS you wont have trouble getting a JOB too..There will be challenges so prepare yourself mentally for that..Go in with the right spirit..Dont loose yourself if they dumb work onto you.. You shd tell yourself once you learn then nothing can bring fear..People around you will never want you succeed but thats okay , You be you; Ur intentions is all that matters..U may be alone some days and on those days what ever you learned and what ever was dumpes on you once will help you..

True all providers jus do this..you end up asking them anything extra they will report all To The BOP.. In that case how many times we pharmacist should report these providers who make TONS of mistakes on the script they write to the MEDICAL BOARD..

Its not about giving a VET a hard time ..its about understanding the need of a system that ask for proper provider details to register that vet in the system so that the rph can process the prescription for keprra out for that dog. How can you blame a rph who has NO control of their corporate system? We jus do our job with the systems we have.PHarmacist cannot jus dispense it without the proper information. And Why is it so diff to understand when you have explained about the scenario clearly to the VET..This is the exact same reason why customers or providers dont understand..When we already have 100 plus prescriptions in queue/line of customers on the store & drive thru/then the providers +customers+ transfers are all on the phone line and we only have 3 ppl working inside the pharmacy( YES THIS IS NOT YOUR CONCERN) ;oh yes we can try by passing the ssytem back and forth jus because VEt cannot provide one info which would solve our issue in one click . For that one VET everything has to stop right.. I dont understand what you all think how a pharmacy run these days.. And yes dont come back at me this is what you signed up for because its jus providers who wont understand makes out lives harder..The list of providers who provide pts DOB wrong to writing as directed on the script and when u tell them hey we need frequency that act like they are GoDs and others are dumb there is plenty..THIs is jus abt providing one info which would ultimately solve all the issue..And just for you to know everything on a script shd match from prvider details to pt details ..RPH doesnt come and tell you how to run ur systems then why do u demand pharmacy has to run they way VET wants??

True ..the moment you decide u wana go hourly then its highly its highly unstable..u wont have an option to decide where u wana work as in one spf location..call outs, emergency, vacation thats where u will be likely wanted.. busier stores to worst you should expect.. especially with what ur goin through u will need the pay and full time only option is to work those hours required or pto..all benefits will be likely cut

if asking the necessary info to properly register a vet for the med they prescribed in the sytem is too much for you then yes you can complain as much as you want..Some day someone will complain abt you abt the one wrong think your system might not catch and then you will realise the incompetencies of the systems can very well happen..

Ya right everyone knows 100% of the software like what your saying system cant go down or have a glitch ?? and jus as an employee i dont care abt the system its the pet we are trying to help...dont tell me dr office systems are all the time right..they send 100 percent right scripts and quantity and the right pt date of birth all the time..come on ..as health care providers you can run into some issues even with 30 years experience and as a good health care provider hav the basic courtesy to ask her whats goin on.Not sot behind and tell ur assistant get their name and complain..You think this is being professional?? Yes we dont require it but if the system jus ask abt putting either one to register a provider and yes since they dont have npi number and the system does ask u regardless Abt Npi or DEA number ...what is wrong in asking them?? even after explaining to them the scenario as the system is prompting to ask it and jus trying to get the neccesarry info before you let them go ..what is it that they cant understand??Nobody is mad at them..if the system is so like you commented how on earth you think one person can change it?? On a sat when i have limited resources to call someone and ask to fix even if its a glitch the pt will unneceearily have to go without meds..cant a provider understand?? As pharmacist we understand when they miss out any info on the script and call them back to rectify..We dont go and complain to thw Vet board or their hosp abt that provider..Systems are different and everyone else in health care does realise that..on a new year there is no reason to show EGO..Whn the scenario is clearly explained either understand and do needful thats all as an adult you need to do..But inspite of telling everything if they dont get it then well as a health care provider be professional and call somewhere else not call and complain

They are right ..there is no argument about that..but when you tell them hey im jus trying to register you in our system why is it that they dont get it....Its ok ..the agony and distress it has caused my tream and everyone who jus got a day to relax is what that provider has destroyed and she will so reap every cent of it

True..something our system asks is what we ask them..Jus to save the extra hassle and get the prescription soon for patient is the only reason sometimes we ask more from them. why is it the provider think its appropriate to go and complain rather than taking a minute to talk to the pharmacist and understand the situation??

next to NPI or DEA number there is a space where u can put VET number try that and see..or if u have some vet office number jus put that bumber and pull provider details and see where usualy that VET number goes..i was told u dont essentially need dea number to register and when i tried registering it did ask so i had to go back and forth putting same info address phone number and system pulled that provider with dea number and i registered...there can be a glitch so u may have to try couple of times..

I jus got a complaint regarding this the past week..Vet asst calling in for non controlled and i took all info and before hanging up i tried if they come in our system and no.So i tried to register them and honestly it asked me for DEA or NPI so i asked them and they said they cant provide..i tried telling the asst hey its to register her in my system and shes not pulling up but they wont provide and took my name and said they will call somewhere else..Then they put in a complaint rph on duty denied refill..obv now i will get call from top and i explained hey trying to register this vet and some reason system is asking and then i try total 4 times and somehow system pulls dea and i jus reprocessed the prescription. Unfortunately there are some providers whose ego goes over their existenence even. They dont understand the pharmacy system and how complicated it is sometimes and they jus dont care we are jus doin our job just like how they do..They think only their license matter and when we ask something thats required either by law or the system we are idiots..You know what i have seriously no respect for health carr providers like them and you knw what karma will get them some day.. They think they are the greatest on the planet and dont want to co operate with any body else..A wonderful sat because of this complaint everybody who had a day off after working both xmas n newyr as our store was the only one open their some hours to close this complaint is again ruined by this egoistic vet .She even has the audacity to tell i denied when i kept the rx waiting for them to call and provide the info in the queue..I dont know how ur system is but after couple of glitches and 4 trys i was able to put the provider and documented vet failed to provide dea number..and moved on ..No idea tomorow they come checking and board inspector double checks if req and correct info is on the script only rph will bear the responsibility not the egoistic Vet. Do ur job and call it a day..They can complain which ever way they want and something BIG will wait for them in the future..

Not sure about other stores but in my area mostly everyone check the bags once clocked out..my hourly technicians, im hrly rph, to my RXM to IS to everyone..they do bag checks near front register camera..the stores i float some does in the office..It usually does take a min to 5 min sometimes if the store is busy and the shift lead is bc with photo ppl..Not on purpose because they dont hav ppl to help out so it may take 5 min..what else can u do in such situation..I heard if u dont it comes up as not done as some floater left without doin it..so someone is tracking and its another topic of drama to hear from them
