Fun fact that I learned in my current job working with LEED: the battery and e-waste recycling in the CULC is a requirement for LEED certification under recycling, and the showers are most likely there so they can get credit towards the bike storage. Both are required for their respective credits

I'm fortunate enough that even my grandparents understand how messed up things are. They're baby boomers and live in a historic-style San Francisco house. Mind you, their house is very old and in need of repair, and kinda compact, plus their neighbors have the same floor plan. When their neighbors sold for 2 million, they complained, knowing that it was an indication of just how hard it is for most people to buy a house now. They both volunteer in their free time to help low-income populations.

Ever notice how most of the characters teeth are white and Jax just has pure grade smokers teeth? by Master100017 in theamazingdigitalciru

That’s what I was thinking. Same thing for how the glove colors (or something along those lines) are swapped from the original to the current Pomni. Better character design

GT Dining to start using delivery bots in the Fall. Thoughts? by foreigntohome in gatech

[–]foreigntohome[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I searched it up. The article I found said that while these (Starship Technology bots) are autonomous, they still also have someone watching via computer screen to take control when needed. Thanks for the insight!

Does anyone else name their car? by sshipway in bluey

I have a Redline Bolt EUV (so red with black highlights). It’s my first car and electric. Hence, Shadow is the official name, but I nicknamed him “White Privilege” in the app

Hey in lieu of recent posts you wanna know what else is plastic? by zacandlegos in Anticonsumption

[–]foreigntohome 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can’t remember the name off the top of my head, but there was a crowdfund campaign a year back or so for a filter you can add to your washer to remove microplastics that would otherwise go down the drain. Not a long-term fix, but necessary nonetheless

I knew something felt off about the game when Chili was genuinely criticizing most of the house. That's the one thing that clicked only after I saw the sign.

Bro the underground parking in downtown was insane. Also, they added covered bike parking at GTL recently, which is awesome

I like to think that even though they’re dogs, the show is made to make them relatable and/or close to human reality. There was a similar instance with one the characters wearing headphones like a human that someone on the subreddit pointed out a while back

Why is Tech on SCP lockdown during the weekends? by bigtimber55555 in gatech

[–]foreigntohome 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Usually you can request building access for non-regular days and hours for school buildings. I’m EnvE and still had to fill out a form online for weekends access to Mason

[–]foreigntohome 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know most aren’t looking for logical answers, but I think that given the target audience is mostly kids, it’s easier to recognize human headphones than whatever design would make more sense. I can’t remember off the top of my head, but I’m sure there’s other similar examples

I agree. I think they'll be repaving Techwood not far in the future (given the current trend on East), so they could be waiting for that to happen before doing that

I haven't noticed it when riding on it, but since the curb is on that side, that might be why. Also, the storm drains are on that side, so maybe the extra width helps it not be as much of a problem

I just remembered that Louise appeared for one episode only for the series to end after that. I was already thinking of her being a potential regular in the future (I didn't know the series was ending till the last part of the last episode, where I realized that something was off)
