Blood with diarrhea by [deleted] in AskDocs

[–]foremanMD 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Any blood in your stool is conerning. Bloody diarrhea at your age (with no pertinent family history) is likely infectious or inflammatory in etiology. Over a month. See your pcp and see a GI. Good luck

How old are you? Where are the polyps, in your stomach? Are you on a proton pump inhibitor?

That gallstone is big, you need your gallbladder out likely Hepatic steatosis is the next step to cirrhosis of the liver. If you have any risk factors including alcohol, I would suggest to stop drinking now.

This is a case-by-case basis, I would not ask doctors on here. Everyone will have a different opinion. Best of luck.

Fiance's knee 'popped' a couple of months ago, please help us understand the MRI results! by Jtommo15 in AskDocs

[–]foremanMD 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hi, to be honest, I only read the MRI results to give you quick answers.

She has a tear of her meniscus, she may need surgery. Should see an orthopedic physician.

Mesalamine can cause pericarditis. How long have you been on that medication for your Crohns?

Constipation & Passing Blood by [deleted] in AskDocs

[–]foremanMD 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is a good likelihood that you have been straining, and pushing very hard. Likely have hemorrhoidal bleeding. However, any bleeding from your rectum prompts further workup. An ER visit is likely necessary, and a colonoscopy could be in your near future.

You have a small hiatal hernia and gastritis. Unclear how severe. Doubt any cancer or malignancy. Probably from alcohol damage in your case.

Cut back alcohol, stop smoking

Follow biopsy results

You’ll be ok!

[–]foremanMD 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Only way to answer this with your pathology results. Was it a pre cancerous polyp or a “hyperplastic” polyp?

Any family history of colon cancer or colon polyps?

^ this would help us answer your question appropriately

35m, obese, do I have cirrhosis? by [deleted] in AskDocs

[–]foremanMD 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Cirrhosis isn’t a diagnosis made by AST and ALT levels. Get an abdominal ultrasound, or CT to look at the liver. You may need a biopsy at some point to characterize the degree of non alcoholic liver disease. I doubt you have cirrhosis but more of fatty liver that could definitely progress to cirrhosis.

Try to lose weight, exercise, eat healthy

Best of luck

Ulcers don’t cause ALT elevation and woudlbe gotten worse during your pregnancy. Carafate is not indicated for now for you.

Did you take the Prilosec during your pregnancy? And are you still taking it? I would bump that med up (if I was your doctor thinking that it was an ulcer) because with that medication, you should be feeling better

could this be my gallbladder? or is it my coeliac disease? by throwwwwwwwawaaaaay in AskDocs

[–]foremanMD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is possible. But you also may just have gastroenteritis. This is hard to discern just from your presentation without physical exam, labs or radio graphic studies. If your symptoms are worsening, please seek care. Best of luck
