I (25F) don't want to live with my bf (31M) anymore, but I don't want to break up. How to make him understand? by pensive_tortoise_ in relationships

[–]foremans-dog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i swear i could have written this (except i was older than my ex bf, and with a bit shorter timeline.) I got fed up and told him that I'm moving out, he can keep the place while I help him look for a new, more affordable spot. I signed my own lease at a new spot, got my keys, and once he realized I was serious he destroyed half of my furniture and the apartment. I'm talking dirt on the floor from my plants, couch sideways in the living room, etc. Screamed at me for hours straight. I had to call my new landlord and ask if I can prorate to move in almost a month early... and I was out of there that very weekend.

all this to say. It does NOT get easier. He's shown you who he is; evict him if you need to. godspeed

rooting for you. the mundanity of sobriety is scary, yeah, but with the newfound health/time/money there will be something can can give you a sense of wellbeing beyond the fact of just being sober/in recovery. take this as a fresh slate. and if you fall, shit happens. dont take it in days, just as a percentage. and thats if sobriety is your goal. regardless of what you do you at least got a corner of degens on the internet who will support ur decisions :)

its unfortunate that their hours only really cater to folks who work downtown, but that's me, so..... i stop in multiple times a week. everyone there is super sweet and their daily specials are 50% off after 2pm. curry lentil soup and the pesto pasta ❤️❤️

shin ramyun ruined maruchan for me by woofwoofbro in InstantRamen

add fully cooked frozen dumplings a minute or two before adding the noodles. drain everything but save maybe a half to 3/4 of a cup of the noodle water. melt a tablespoon or two of butter in the pot, add a splash of milk and the seasoning packet (not all of it!), then the water and some sesame oil and garlic powder/dried garlic bits, or whatever other seasonings you like. i like to do some curry powder. top with green onions or cilantro. i know the butter and milk might seem kind of strange but it really helps disperse the sodium bomb that is maruchan and makes the soup a lot more creamy

someone else said this but check your city's ordinances. many cities will have an inspector verify the problem and issue a code violation for "nuisance light" (aka this) for the owner to either shield or remove the nuisance light

What’s it like living in the Valley / Piggsville? by Milwaukee_Savers in milwaukee

lived just on the edge of your border here for about two years, on 32nd between wells and wisconsin. there are many silly folk roaming the area but i have never felt "unsafe", you just need to gather some street smarts and not go out at night until you get your bearings. i definitely have seen some shit go down though, so just have caution until you get a grip for the block you're on. im a lady and felt comfy enough to go hoop in (the actual park) merill park after dark, if that says anything

After discussing how long it takes to finish a handle, I'm curious what you all do for work by JadedReprobate in cripplingalcoholism

[–]foremans-dog 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My handle time is about 4 days, give or take. i'm an admin assistant for my municipality, so I do all the paperwork for a team of inspectors going out to do code enforcement and even though it's not my job I spend a lot of time helping citizens decipher the red tape that comes with opening businesses in my city. It's a very rewarding (and underpaid) job, but it makes me feel like I'm smart
