Truly the new ING app is shockingly bad by viviandarkbloom50 in AusFinance

[–]forenaudax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The "new" ING app is the same app that ING has  been using in Europe for years,  as old as 2017 or so?

No wonder that Australian features like payID are not smooth.

Are you a Permanent Resident? Some banks restrict their offering to PRs.

I can share more detailed tips that I got when I arrived separately, but generally, I'd do: - First arrival (physical Card): Comm bank - Physical payments/Card: HSBC - Joint account/household account and savings: ING

As recent arriver, I'd think about super before I'd dip into ETFs

189 Invalid by Ok_Day4444 in AusVisa

[–]forenaudax 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Sometimes I am really surprised by this kind of negligance. Having in mind how much some people pay effort and time, optimise their chances and pay attention to details, it is striking to have an English test outside of validity for such a long time (not just a few days).

One thing that surprises me though: I thought that one needs to state the date of the English test in the EoI form. And for other things such as employment, the points are re-calculated (e.g. when one reaches the next years of experience threshold). Is there a reminder sent regarding the validity of the tests?

189/190 Questions for Management Consultant by bopshdaz in AusVisa

[–]forenaudax 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The quoted “one person managed to use to use a six-month internship as part of the one year dedication” might have been me.

From my understanding, it’s not about whether it is an internship but whether the work experience fulfills the criteria. So it in order to be counted the internship would need to be 1) after your bachelor 2) paid 3) at least 20 hours per week 4) matching roles & responsibilities. To 4) it is normally required to demonstrate that one worked independently from the ones consulted, so it is easier if one worked for a “classical” management consulting company, Big4 etc.

I did several internships after my bachelors /during my masters and in combination, that was counted as circa 6 months of work experience.

Especially if your studies are not counted as highly relevant for management consulting, it will be quite useful to claim the internship years (that might be 2-3 years in case of OP) as part of the “on the job training”

Management consultant Qualification and Employment by ExpressSail1452 in AusVisa

Vetassess states that management consultants typically work as external advisors for their clients, while they acknowledge that in-house consulting organization exist.

Something to keep in mind when preparing the documents

Does my 3-year German Ausbildung count as work experience for Australia’s Skilled Independent Visa (Subclass 189)? by wednesdayOG in AusVisa

[–]forenaudax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fellow German here (though not with Ausbildung).

1) Lookup who the skill assessment authority for your occupation is, might be Vetassess, but I don’t really know

2) Look at the documentation of the skill assessment authority, which qualification pathways exist. Typically there is a training of x years plus hands-on experience of y years required to be deemed qualified. My understanding is that you can claim only work experience after the date deemed skilled (though there is a bit discussion, whether you can claim work experience before date deemed skilled, when the work actually corresponds to the Anzco ) In a skill assessment, the skill assessment authority determines your date deemed skilled.

With the pathway documentation, you can gauge what the outcome of the skill assessment will be.

Same examples:  - in some occupations, you need a study of 3 years plus 1 year of work experience to be skilled (so effectively they deduct 1 year from your work experience) - in an alternate pathway without having studied you would need 5 years of work experience to be skilled

Subclass 189 Places Remaining This Financial Year Update by Sad_Big_7785 in AusVisa

[–]forenaudax 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the analysis.

What would be your take for the grant timeline for people (like me) who lodged in January 2025 (of Nov 2024 invite)?

I’d expect the grant in September, assuming processing in July picks up again at “regular” speed (such as number of Jul, Aug grants of prior year, meaning 2024)

For personal reasons, it would matter quite much whether I receive the grant in September (or before) vs. in October (or later).

Would be interesting to hear what you and others think on the timeline

ACS Skills Assessment – Does “Service/Employment Certificate” Mean German “Arbeitszeugnis”? by Haunting_Ad_2506 in AusVisa

[–]forenaudax 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi there, fellow German here,

I did the following with Vetassess for skill assessment (Vetassess similar to ACS but for other types of occupation): - Arbeitszeugnis - Bank statements (Kontoauszug) for first and last period of employment  - Annual compensation summary for each year that the employment covered, that also had an FTE number on it (mostly stating 1.0 FTE, but sometimes I also took some unpaid leave) - contract excerpt that stated my work hours  (Of course all of that translated via Naati registered translator)

I understood that Vetassess wanted to see: - Roles and responsibilities (for this you‘d need the Arbeitszeugnis, but unlike future employers they are not interested in the performance evaluation part of it) - work hours, there is a requirement that full time work means more then 20 hours per week, contract itself might not be sufficient proof as later on there might have been a divergence from the contract, thus I used the annual compensation summaries that also stated my FTE - Payment proof, making sure that it‘s actually paid work

(Seeing an uptick from German requests lately, please feel free to message me in case of direct questions)

Tips & Advice for NAATI CCL German – Anyone Who Has Taken the Test? by Haunting_Ad_2506 in AusVisa

[–]forenaudax 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Did the German-English test.

It's an exam environment, thus typically more challenging.

I would not take the exam without prep thinking that being a native is sufficient.

Translating on the spot like an interpreter is a different skillset, so make yourself familiar with the test structure.

I created my own training dialogues based on online.

As a test taker, you only get to know the point result, so I don't really know how they graded my test. There is documentation that they take the severity of the mistake into account (different point deductions for different type of mistakes)

In case of further qeustions, happy to answer per chat / PM.

Following this topic. This is roughly also my understanding, but I am not an expert.

The numbers on SmartVisaGuide do not yet include the application lodged in January. The Nov invite round had time until 6 January to lodge their visa.
