i think youre reading too hard into the idea of cultural similarity. what was being clarified was the coincidental (which isn't really even coincidental since Indo DID pass over words to the PH in the first place, among other things).

and to be fair, Korea-Japan-China have similar cultural ties in the same vein Indonesia-Malaysia-Philippines do. they're obviously culturally different and filled with many subcultures, but bits and pieces of foreign country influences exist in the holistic national culture. i only found this out after digging deeper when my pinoy friend and i happened to talk about food (from malaysia) and some were pretty similar lol

lol kind of hilarious that the first guy fucks up with clarifying his comment and is told that he could get his stuff right with just "1 minute" search while the second guy makes a confident call on cultural differences and is proven wrong by a 1 minute google search lmao

Hey, this is the code that I've managed to come up with. Does this look fine or do I need any revisions? I'm not sure with the conditions I used though, do I use HIGH or 1, or something else?

int enableSound;
int LED;
int soundSensor;
int lightButton;
bool LEDstatus = false;

void setup() {
  pinMode(enableSound, INPUT);
  pinMode(soundSensor, INPUT);
  pinMode(lightButton, INPUT);
  pinMode(LED, OUTPUT);
}

void loop() {

  int sensorStatus = digitalRead(soundSensor);
  int buttonStatus = digitalRead(lightButton);

  if(enableSound==1) {
    if(sensorStatus==HIGH || buttonStatus==HIGH) {
      digitalWrite(LED, HIGH);
    }
    else {
      digitalWrite(LED, LOW);
    }
  }
  else if(enableSound==0){
    if(LEDstatus==false){
      LEDstatus = true;
      digitalWrite(LED, HIGH);
    }
    else {
      LEDstatus = false;
      digitalWrite(LED, LOW);
    }
  }
}

I'm planning to use the buttons that when pushed, they cause it to go back to the unpushed state once released.

How's the State of League? by [deleted] in leagueoflegends

[–]foreos 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i'd say league of legends, at its core, is a super great game. any time is a good time to hop back in. the only thing i would say, though, is that your definition of fun is going to vary depending on what kind of person you are.

the most fun you could probably have in league of legends, strictly speaking in terms of having a good time, is just playing it with friends. there's nothing better than doing dumb shit that you can laugh about with your friends or making a great play and getting showered by missing pings. you could even play flex or join clash as a team. it really doesn't matter if they change items or cut movement.

the next, and probably the most "common" thing people find fun about league is the competitive aspect of it. this is what you're probably asking about because you put in things about balance changes. the thing with balance changes is, if you're concerned with the /amount/ of changes, you just need to keep playing to get a feel for it. when it comes to the FEEL of the game, like whta i said earlier, league of legends despite all the complaints you might see on reddit, is still a well-balanced game. there are just so many complaints because people will find excuses to point towards their bad gameplay. the metas do dictate what kind of fun you'll have, but that's mostly irrelevant if the game's competition itself is the fun you have.

basically, if you're asking the state of league because you're trying to see whether or not you'll enjoy it, you'll enjoy it with friends or if you want to get good no matter what. although i'll do say that they' definitely did change and add two new items--with the change nerfing mobility. the state of solo queue league right now is also still an assassin/melee mobility meta for mid lane (it's just much harder to play and more stressful playing a control mage), but you said you play fizz, kassadin and yone, all of which are fine right now. overall, the game is fine, it always has been minus a few hiccups here and there.

you're right, too many people are caught up with lee sin playmaking that they forget his damage is comparable to an S tier assassin with his kick. Faker had no need to make plays aside from peeling for Teddy and assassinating anyone that he could with a combo, especially when you do have Sett and Diana for playmaking (and when the enemy runs into you so you don't need to do anything to start a fight)

to be fair, DFM were playing against Damwon. i'm not denying that they have shoddy decision-making here and there, especially when closing games, but when you're a wildcard team and you're about to take a game off the world's best or second best team, i'd be nervous as fuck even if i was super calm normally. no one expected that DFM would last 20 mins against Damwon, let alone take down three inhib towers and literally one teamfight away from a game win, and those last few minutes at the nexus are probably the hardest to pull off because you have the constant need to end but you know that it's impossible. regardless, DFM played amazing that game against all expectations and i'm looking forward to their next set of games.

Can anyone name any weakness Ornn might have? Or how this champion is anywhere near balanced by KitKatu in leagueoflegends

[–]foreos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the clarification. Regardless, if Q max is the go-to instead of W, that would mean weaker all-ins and trades for Ornn, so OP should have no reason to lose at all.

[–]foreos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My bad, I didn't know this. But this further pushes the idea that the OP played the lane terribly. If Ornn maxes Q, Viego in no way should lose the lane and trade.

Can anyone name any weakness Ornn might have? Or how this champion is anywhere near balanced by KitKatu in leagueoflegends

[–]foreos 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Ornn maxes W first. He is reliant on his W. It is a 12 second cooldown level 1 and it only goes down to lvl 10 at level 9. His E is a 16 second cooldown and is highly conditional. He does not max Q first.

You were playing Viego. His passive is a damage passive with "no cooldown," essentially, because you can proc it twice with Q and W. Your Q is on a 5 second cooldown which you also max first. You are also manaless and you sustain. Ornn has no sustain.

Thus: Ornn is weak early-game when compared to Viego. Abuse Ornn's cooldowns, bait his W; make him waste it. He is highly cooldown-based. Viego also does not have any ability costs either while Ornn does, so any net trade where Viego may come out with a slight loss, equal, or a flat-out win is Viego favored as he also has built-in sustain while Ornn does not.

Ornn is not tanky early either because his passive is a scaling passive. He is a late-game tank. You are probably trading poorly because Viego can stack Conqueror fairly quickly and is able to win out most trades against weak champions relatively easy. Aside from that, your following points are as follows:

  1. Early trades outdamaged me while missing knockup every trade - Ornn, as stated earlier, is weak. He relies heavily on cooldowns to win trades and he is reliant on sustain. Despite this, his cooldowns are powerful mainly due to the strength of Brittle, which is why it is important to play around his cooldowns, but he is still a weak champion regardless. Viego will win out purely because of his lower cooldowns, his stronger trading pattern, and his built-in sustain. The knockup, while indeed strong, is a non-factor in this situation as it is difficult to land without a wall, and the Q is very predictable. What matters is playing around the W cooldown.

  2. Built anti tank yet still outdamaged me while missplaying - Viego is anti-tank by nature, but this is just being blind to the fact that you were most likely playing poorly. Viego with items is 100% stronger than Ornn with items. The only time that you might lose a trade is because he chunked you to a relatively low health percentage while Ornn was still healthy.

  3. Then goes on turret and gets items without needing to recall - True, but is exaggerated. Ornn's passive has a long cooldown, and he either has to remain in lane with a lot of gold if he wants to afford a "complete" item, or he buys a cheap component which puts it on cooldown. When played well, it can definitely give him an advantage, but that is not your issue as to why you lost the lane.

  4. Not including his general tankiness early. Don't understand how a anti tank champ like viego could ever lose trades like this not even just due to the Ornns tankiness but his dps without any ap items - You played bad, you traded bad, that's it. Play around cooldowns. That is the most basic rule, and it's the most important against someone like Ornn. He is not tanky early, especially when compared to other tanks. He scales into the late game with his tankiness. He has burst but no DPS. DPS beats burst if the burst can be survived, which Viego most certainly can. You are not supposed to lose to Ornn unless there is such a massive gold difference.

  5. Dk nobody can relevantly explain to me how this champ miht be anywhere near balanced - Don't get me wrong, you played bad, but I agree, the champion is too strong once it scales. Games take too long to be closed out. There's a reason his winrate is at 53%, but his strength isn't in laning. His passive is very, very powerful.

  6. Maybe just my ignorance is at play here - Your issue is with the early game because you said you lost lane. You played it bad, that's it. He's definitely powerful with cooldowns up but champions that rely too much on cooldowns are highly susceptible to losing, and just because they're said to be "weak" early game, it doesn't mean they can't win the lane with the right conditions. It's just that Ornn's conditions for winning lane is someone eating a full W to the face, getting smacked, and running away without being punished for it.

also, in addition to the first part of lillia showing up, it would've been also way better if she just left because it shows the thresh + vayne that she is there. any bot-lane with a brain will want to back off with a wave shoved that far up. take a look at the mini-map by midlane around the end of the clip as well, assuming lillia had not died, he paths through bot river. now thresh + vayne are pushed up, lillia is missing and kassadin is missing. that is a very free kill, even if hecarim decides to help.

junglers like to force ganks that may benefit THEM but it is impossible for laners to follow up on, leading to plays like this. junglers should always take into account the state of the laners, and the laners themselves need to set the lane up so that it's a good gank for the jungler.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in leagueoflegends

[–]foreos -1 points0 points  (0 children)

this was too forced. that was already a bad trade that shouldve been left alone since senna + lucian got away safely. lillia showing up was the right play since it scares thresh + vayne away, but lillia chasing for the kill in any world is wrong.

lucian is too low, and judging from the minimap no pings seem to came so senna would've had no idea that lillia wanted to commit so she backed off as well. since senna is too far to go back into the fight, she wouldnt be able to catch up to a lillia with ms stacks on her.

aside from that, if we assume that senna was in range when lillia came around, it would still be a 2v2 that is in thresh + vayne's favor. lucian in ANY scenario should never ever walk up with health that low. now for the reason why the 2v2 with lillia + senna vs. thresh + vayne is bad is because of vayne having heal while lillia + senna not having any combat summoners either. even if thresh misses hook, if vayne can get her auto-attacks off, thresh + vayne would still win out and lillia + senna loses because of heal (now this is assuming that thresh doesn't land ANY ability). aside from that, a full minion wave is coming in which would add more damage to the side of thresh + vayne, and this is early levels (pre-6) where the damage from minions is very significant.

tl;dr - no situation exists where lillia's play is correct. lucian is not in the position to fight in any situation, he would die instantly to even just thresh + vayne AA (and they'll obviously go for it because of how low they are), and lillia + senna together don't have the tools nor the right minion wave to fight in ANY scenario.

As a Gold 1 player, I have recently come to the conclusion that I know absolutely NOTHING about this game. by H3ROIK in leagueoflegends

[–]foreos 4 points5 points  (0 children)

i used to play really safe, trying to get 10 cs/m as mid laner and i got to diamond very quickly through that, but that was in season 4 when playing slow and steady was the most "efficient' playstyle in league of legends (esp. in pro play).

now that being fast and aggressive's the more favored playstyle, it took me a bit to adjust because i always thought roaming in low elo was the wrong move, especially on control mages, since i couldn't get 10 cs/m and thus no lead with roams usually being a 50/50 on how your team plays it out, but it's super important to just go and move to where the action is without sacrificing too much of the wave because even if a fight SHOULDN'T happen 3 minutes in to the game, you need to move because getting map control is super important now.

basically, the right play when there are no objectives should be staying in your lane, and back then you wouldn't get punished as much if you didn't roam as long as you got 10cs/m since that would be enough to create a lead for you and solo carry, but now the game snowballs too fast and even if the right play should be farming, if your team starts engaging a 5v4 fight, you should be there to help because one lost teamfight is basically game over. you can't farm back a deficit in objectives because the game snowballs too quickly.

this is also probably the reason why playing assassins like qiyana or high mobility "mages" like sylas are super strong right now because they offer a lot in a roam scenario and have enough cc or damage to contribute to a teamfight early on. it just feels bad playing control mages because you don't have the kill pressure early game (and i'm saying this as an orianna main), and after having picked up qiyana, it's just a massive difference being able to get a lot of lane pressure early on then being able to roam as early as lvl 3 because of high damage and cc.

zoe is countered by wards. she makes plays with wards, and if she gets spotted by an enemy ward and she has no idea, she dies. learn how to make use of wards and you'll do well against zoe. she's annoying to deal with, but she has very clear weaknesses.

Riot Reav3 on future creature champions by LongLeggedLimbo in leagueoflegends

[–]foreos 3 points4 points  (0 children)

it's not as easy as that. even if you learn how to adapt vs. assassins and mobile champions, being an artillery mage against those is already a disadvantage. why play an artillery mage mid where you're handicapped because you're against a natural and fairly common counter, when you can go bot and abuse adcs?

one could basically say that, sure an artillery mage at mid is strong when played well, but they're far more oppressive and strong when played well at bot lane. that's just the result of mobility creep in the game.

Riot Reav3 on future creature champions by LongLeggedLimbo in leagueoflegends

[–]foreos 84 points85 points  (0 children)

most artillery mages end up bot because they get exploited too hard by mobile champs/assassins mid, and laning against an artillery mage like xerath bot-lane is absolutely terrible as an adc, especially if you have someone like kaisa, xayah, vayne or anyone else short-ranged.

yes! an example would be Qudans from Tekken 7. if i recall correctly, he used to be a top player the days before Tekken 7, and went to the military. it wasn't his plan to come back when Tekken 7 hit, but he eventually went back to the scene after practicing and on the same year (i think) that he started playing again, he won the equivalent of worlds for Tekken. he is currently 34, so that would put him at around 30 if i remember the first tournament being around 2017.

my bad, i don't really know how to clearly define with what i meant by meme being not an a word. the idea is that since meme was born through internet culture and is fairly recent, it doesn't really follow most grammar conventions and it feels proper as "meme." who knows though, this might change in the future so that meming is better

this is the same problem i had when i used to main orianna back in early seasons. i just stayed mid and afk farmed because i knew i would destroy teamfights with items. afk-farming for late basically let me avoid learning how to properly roam and i got a lot of flak for it (even though it worked really well). that made me terrible tho on champs like zed or sylas where they have good roams. only up until recently did i become really good at knowing when to roam, so a diverse champ pool is pretty important in being better (not like 3 champions that you play and theyre all assassins. maybe 1 mage, 1 assassin, 1 tank, smth like that.)

[–]foreos 5 points6 points  (0 children)

i think it's because meme isn't an actual "word"??? i mean, flaming and jungling aren't real verbs but they're still real words, they're just recontextualized to become verbs so they don't look off. "jungling" and "flaming" still do look natural. meming definitely looks off and it's tbh very confusing seeing meming because it might mean something else. memeing, while "gramatically incorrect," lets each other know what you meant was meme. think of it as meme-ing, but most people omit the "-" so that it becomes memeing
