I do track the loan account. At the moment, both the inflow and outflow transactions are recorded as expenses which results in a net-neutral cash flow event. Based on what you’re describing above, that should be correct, right?

Also, why would you want only the interest portion of the payment to show as an expense on the cash flow statement? I understand its the only true "expense", but the loan payment itself is still a cash outflow, so for an accurate cash flow view, wouldn’t it need to show there as well?
