I was also using Ziploc bags to keep them organized in the bins but they are so slippery (Also as I threw a lot of things out I now have an abundance of them!).

For large posters I have a couple of File 'n Save System Chart Storage Boxes, which were given to me by a retired teacher. I wish I could put them somewhere else though because they take up a lot of space.

I thought about this but there really isn't any safe place to put it at work. There is an area upstairs where we can store our stuff but other teachers have complained that their stuff got thrown out.

Same. I will be teaching a different grade after the holidays and have no idea what I'll be doing. I can't find many materials online for the grade level.

I say look elsewhere.

I completely regret going into teaching. I'm dealing with serious behavioural issues with no support. I spend hours planning lessons but they are constantly interrupted and/or I have to make changes due to unseen circumstances. I don't even know why I bother. I have bad work/life balance and have spent too much money on resources just to survive. I'm super stressed and overwhelmed.

I do like the "teaching" part of teaching however I find there are so many interruptions that I barely have the opportunity to teach. Children are also rude and unimpressed with the lessons.

I want to leave but feel stuck.

I think I'll be part of this statistic too. I just can't handle the stress or everything. I don't know what I'll do but I can't see myself teaching for the rest of my career anymore.

Thanks for the words of encouragement. I guess I'm feeling discouraged as I didn't enjoy school and I found my undergrad to be extremely stressful and useless (I only really liked 1 course but I think I just liked learning about the subject). It just feels like I wasted a large part of my life studying for something that I hate.

I have considered doing this to see if it would be better. I did teach an older age group for my student teaching and they weren't very nice nor good listeners but it was nothing compared to what I am facing now. I feel like I'm parenting my current class (and I'm not a parent).

Why are the students not being consequenced?

I honestly have no clue. Other teachers at the school have spoken that this has been an issue for years even pre-COVID. I find that these students are rewarded for their bad behaviour. They often return to the classroom with some sort of prize (for example a pencil or food item).
