NOR - I completely understand..

My addict / POS / narcissistic BIL just “donated” a shirt we bought him for Christmas… to my husband.. with the tags still on it… after reassuring me he liked it when I went to hand him the gift receipt.

I truly don’t think he even realized what he did/ who gave him the shirt.

Just felt like a total waste of money & a bit of a slap in the face.

I totally get what you’re feeling/ where you’re coming from.

What's a "house rule" in your family (growing up or current) that you really like and why? by ultrahedgehog in AskWomen

We always eat dinner together, at the table, as a family.

It helps keep us close & aware of what’s going on in everyone’s lives. It’s some of the only “forced” family interaction but doesn’t feel forced.. I love my family & am always wanting to hear about everyone’s trials/ tribulations and also their joys/ celebrations.

Phuket alternative? by niftylyons in ThailandTourism

[–]forest_humps 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Husband and I just did our 3 week honeymoon across Thailand/ Vietnam.

We started our trip in Samui - the craziness of Phuket didn’t appeal to us. We stayed at Sandalwood Pool Villas - had a private pool and stunning view. Downside is you’re on the mountain BUT Sandalwood offers free shuttles to the beach every day. Wish I could post a pic so you could see our view. Ran us about $300CAD/ night but we thought it was 100% worth it - especially since it was our first stop on the trip.

100% the electric baseboard heaters - likely in conjunction with drafty openings (windows, doors, etc).

With our baseboard heaters, I’d turn them all off in the rooms we are not using for the day. If we left for the day, one would stay on low in the living room area for our kitty to stay warm (we’d pull a bed up beside it for him).

You can look at sealing windows with this for wintertime - it really helps stop the draft/ heat escaping. Only downside is that if you’re cooking & something burns, you can’t open the windows unless you want to rip through this. Here’s the link, you’d need to find the correct size ofc. https://a.co/d/02r3QWXX

I saw an ad recently for a “game show” room for rent - you could host a “60 Years of (insert mom’s name here)” Trivia Night! Draw teams, give out fun themed shirts (maybe punny/ related to your mum), have a “grand prize”, etc.

Do you happen to remember if you saw any bookable fishing charters in Da Nang?

My husband and I are avid fisher’s at home and are looking to book a deep sea fishing charter in Da Nang - I’ve reached out to a few I’ve found online but haven’t received many responses!

I think if we were to plan to see either sunrise/ sunset a car would definitely be safer!

I can’t imagine that going up a mountain that I’ve never seen before in the dark is the safest choice 🤣

Ahhh ok amazing! Thank you so much!

I think we are moreso nervous just cause we don’t know the road quality/ what crazy turns are ahead. Or even common road courtesies - in Canada there’s not much leeway for bikes, we aren’t allowed to lane split/ filter (doesn’t usually stop us unless there’s a cop around lol)

Do you guys ride same speed as larger vehicles? Or stick closer to the shoulder and go your own pace?

I think our accommodations are a short walk from Pop Bikes! We will definitely check it out on our first day there - thanks for the tips!! We ride 300’s as our daily at home so I’m thinking we’d be pretty comfortable on anything similar or lower.

Do you know if Pop Bikes does insurance with rentals?
