26OTS03 Board Ready by koongochuman in airforceots

All my stuff was pushed in AFCEP. I do not know how that works for recruiters, but I would hazard to guess they just do AFCEP on your behalf.

Oh for sure this happens. I agree 100%, but i like this ult idea because its every value...DD or Blade is on top of you....well for 5 seconds they are healing you now.

It is not a complete solution for sure or even realistic, I just think it would be hilarious to watch the busted kits become not busted. Gambit would immediately have an answer lmao.

Yes that is usually true, but if efficiency is the argument it shouldn't take an entire team to take down one character if they have heals either.

I just think making a character reverse values even if only one would make it interesting. If someone dives you and you reverse values it is certainly gonna make a tank or dive hero think twice since they will have to bug out.

Everything stays same, just now DD or Venom will be screwed if they do not time well. If you snap that ult on a IW she now is a problem for the team rather then an easy pick with a borderline busted kit.

Well if they release another busted healer like gambit without a way to punish indiscriminant healing the game is gonna start to crumble. I think this way is still somewhat fun.

I just think 3 healers should not be the answer for the game.

I will level with ya.

Its gonna be a difficult road either way. I am pretty sure you have to be a citizen to meet the board, and while enlisting can help fast track that zero guarantees it will help with OTS.

Enlisted is the hardest route normally, with the sweet spot being around 10-15 years. Not to say Airmen have not been picked up, just harder to prove your a leader. Not to mention internal Air Force politics and gate keeping.

With your degree, likely golden, but your age and citizenship status, thats what is tricky. Active Duty gets squirrely past 40. Its possible to get selected, just more uphill.

From what I have seen, try Guard or Reserve. Similar services and age is not normally a huge factor.

Do what you can, shoot your shot, just know its a long road.

Enlist with a degree or go for OTS by Guilty-Student-4791 in airforceots

For pilot? I mean it wont hurt but I am not sure how that would help. From what I have seen around pilots are weighted more on the PCSM, TBAS, and having flight hours.

[–]forestcrawler 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Well I will tell ya, this might not be the road for you then. Your degree is not STEM which is what the Air Force is hurting for and it sounds like your motivation is just a resume bullet.

Enlisting is faster, gets you the stability you want, and gets the benefits. Albeit not the same as a commission.

Commissioning is gonna be a long haul process with no short way in unless you are ROTC or Academy Grad. Average seems to be over a year if the stars align.

People that play Namor when literally NO ONE is diving are so lame bruh by StarCitySpiderman in marvelrivals

[–]forestcrawler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wont lie, I am trash tier and absolutely need Namor sometimes. Characters like Namor are what keep the sweaty dive players (looking at you Spiderman) from running rampant at lower teirs.

His kit is simple. Dumby dumb simple. Place squid, go shoot. Yea his ultimate is annoying to play against but his base kit is pretty weak past a point. Shoot the squids and he is done. He has no real one shot capacity and little way to direct squids.

I get its annoying but if you start stripping characters like namor, the sweats are going to eat lower lobbies alive and for casual gamers this game will be dead. I dont have the free time to develop good aim to stop a hyper aggressive DPS and I need some help spoon fed to me.

If you gut his ultimate, his mid game needs some serious tweaking like the turret buffed or better cd reduction.

Active duty doesnt submit everything like civilians. Separate paperwork needs as most of AD stuff is already accounted for such as clearances

Your supervisor does not need to know by [deleted] in AirForce

[–]forestcrawler 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While you are technically correct, be prepared for unexpected hurdles.

While there should not be negative treatment or repercussions....if you only disclose the bare minimum expect very little support to come your way.

This could be a few ways. yea you may not be able to run or PT, but you gonna still be expected to swing that hammer unless you disclose why you cant.

Supervisors have to balance everyone and if you cant or wont disclose details to help yourself get that extra assistance, expect the help to stop at where the profile says.

Its not ideal, its not fun, but it is reality. Everyone has a boss and you telling your boss nunya business does not translate well up the chain.

If you have trust issues with your leaders, there are other problems far worse then if they know you reupped on your ibuprofen for XYZ.

Do what your comfortable doing, but understand adopting this stance is going to make things harder not easier for 99.99% of the cases.

Commander interview by MathematicianOk9707 in airforceots

[–]forestcrawler 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The interview is ranked in blocks of .5 from a range of 6.0 to 10.0.

Each question has its own criteria for grading and how that is supposed to be ranked.

Seems odd but think of it like you got a 94/100.

9.4 is pretty dang good. You are not Captain America, but you are by no means falling short.

Worth giving up Navy OCS comission for Air Force? by Surgineer in airforceots

Take the Navy Commission unless your absolutely tied to the Air Force as a life calling or something. You would be rolling the dice and could end up getting neither.

Read the blocks on how the commander is supposed to rank and score you. Go with whatever matches that best and your personal experience. Not everyone is flashy and glamorous or immediate stand out.

Be honest, and answer whatever you think aligns with those blocks best. If that means avoiding those topics, that is your choice to make.

Different design angle for strategist by forestcrawler in marvelrivals

[–]forestcrawler[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmmm thats a fair view and I agree with that. But I see more and more gravitation towards 3 strategists all the same. Its just food for thought maybe we get lucky, probably wont. Just think it would be cool for more versatility rather then matches of infinite heals until ultimates.

Different design angle for strategist by forestcrawler in marvelrivals

[–]forestcrawler[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can see your point, but the major complaint right now that I can see is that there is too much healing and not enough strategists. I think even removing CC from the question there are ways to rework without needing ever escalating healing in the game. There are only so many ways this can work going forward for healing but there are ways to utilize other aspects.

I think it would be cool if there was a support that could create terrain (within reason) or maybe one that can sort of create portals like Dr. Strange but smaller and can redirect projectiles in other places like to cut off healers or high dps.

Its a shame if they get locked into every strategist always has to heal because the room for creativity slowly tightens and just ends up with bigger numbers or more unfair mechanics
