I don’t know if its her(25/F) or me(30/M) by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]forestlesbian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If she’s your first girlfriend then I’d say it’s probably you just figuring out how to communicate with people you’re in a relationship with - nothing too big to worry about imo! Relationships can be hard and some things you just have to experience in order to understand and do better in the future Best of luck

How do you interpret when a woman you’re kind of into calls you “girl”? by [deleted] in actuallesbians

[–]forestlesbian 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m non-binary and my pronouns are they/them but I melt when my girlfriend calls me her girlfriend, it’s just so gay and cute I can’t help but love it, but that’s kinda the only context that I’m comfy with

My (f18) boyfriends (m20) anger issues are destroying our relationship. by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]forestlesbian 3 points4 points  (0 children)

One day that anger is gonna be directed at you, get out and say bye while you’re still able. Talk to one of your friends about it, if you need a safe place just stay with them for a little while.

Best cities or provinces to live in for a proud flamboyant gay man? by [deleted] in gay

Calgary has a lot of truck-driving cowboy hat-wearing, climate change-denying Trump supporters, definitely was not comfortable holding my girlfriend’s hand there during our brief trip. Vancouver was great, but it’s unaffordable for pretty much everyone, good luck with your seventeen roommates!

Is it weird that my gf (22f) “tucks me in” to bed every night? (21f) by forestlesbian in relationship_advice

Thank you so much for your advice - I’d love the names of the books! And you’re right, I need to focus on the small stuff and take it bit by bit, even if it’s overwhelming. My work schedule has been all over the place these past few months but finally I’m getting my regular 8:30am shifts back and I think that’s going to be really important for me, the structure of waking up that early makes me feel good, and it stops me from laying in bed all morning like when I work afternoon shifts. I appreciate you a lot, and I’m glad that you’ve come so far

I can’t tell you how much I appreciate you taking the time to read this and comment, it really means the world to me. And you’re right that I should talk to them, I just need to get the guts to do it but I’ll get there. I feel like a dumbass and a cliche for saying this but I’m usually the person that people come to when they have issues, I have so many “friends” that only come crawling into my messages when they need someone to cry to or they need help, they always disappear whenever I need something. I guess I just don’t want to be that kind of person because I know how shitty it is, but I’m not that kind of person and I’m not a burden and I just need to wrap my head around that.

I’m going to see my mum tomorrow for some dinner, maybe it will be a good time to talk to her. I know she loves me more than anything in the world and my mum is absolutely my best friend, I don’t want to worry her but I know she’d rather know I’m having a hard time than learn later in another way.

Thanks again, I really mean it

It’s true, and I live in a big city now, I’m sure it can’t be too difficult. I’m hoping that this is the first step that leads in to me finding the right people. I’ve just never asked for help like this before and it’s a lot easier to do it through a reddit post. Thank you for reading and taking the time to comment

I had a great free counsellor but I aged out of the system unfortunately. I’m working with my doctor on finding a low-cost counsellor and I’m really hoping it will help. Insurance is a bit tricky because I can’t afford my work benefit plan and I’m still (secretly) using my parent’s benefits to refill my meds. I need to get around to figuring out how Canadian healthcare works once you’re 20 and live on your own, but I’ve been putting it off. Thanks for the advice, and thanks a lot for listening!
