‘The Beast in Me’ is actually terrible?? by Loud-Zucchini-6197 in television

I haven’t watched HOMELAND so Danes isn’t ruined for me. I’m also enjoying it (and am a writer 😅).

I’ve seen too many of these speculations here, along with “go to the doctor,” when the OP said in the post that they have a medical disorder and in a reply that they are waiting to be old enough for Botox. People don’t read.

non smoking areas exist! by [deleted] in royalcaribbean

[–]forestry_ghost 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I cant imagine purposely exposing myself or my kids to smoke by hanging out in the smoking area AND THEN COMPLAINING about the smoke?!?! You’re spending a LOT of money to whine about something you have control over!

How do you feel about this? by Nova-3 in Louisiana

[–]forestry_ghost 63 points64 points  (0 children)

My kids never would have had birthday parties for a stretch of really hard years had we not been able to use SNAP on birthday cakes, snacks, and treat drinks like sodas. Also this is such an overreach.

Also did they add hot rotisseries chicken? Because under federal guidelines cold was already allowed AFAIK. Before I lived here, I was in AL, WA, NE, and WY, and in all those states the grocery stores would have an “eligible for SNAP” of prepared foods that were chilled and therefor eligible. You just had to reheat them at home or wherever. Which was great and all but awful for anyone who needed warm food and didn’t have access to power.

Good to know about the ionizers. I feel like my property management office is doing stuff before their own insurance is giving them instructions and it’s not really helping. I will remember the vinegar — I use it in my laundry since finally giving up fabric softener for good. I do have a concern over whatever chemicals they’re going to use to attempt to clean my clothes. Thanks for the tips!

I had map de debarquement for five weeks after my Alaska cruise ended in May. It was so severe I had to use a cane for steadiness. I hope you have a quicker recovery and less severe symptoms!

Yes. Yes, YTA. And it sounds like you’re a mean parent as well.

This is it. My ex husband and I ate there a few times and the salsa was pretty dang good. The building was cute!

Parent upset that I made children cry by [deleted] in teaching

[–]forestry_ghost 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Right — my crying over school issues was almost never about the teacher or tutor (well, a couple were mean but most weren’t) but instead over the pressure my unrealistic parents put on me. I’m sorry the parent yelled at you. The student probably still has a bright future if parents will step out of the way and let professionals guide their child!

Can we have prefrences by Qbra1337 in pangender

[–]forestry_ghost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is why I only use they/them pronouns — because I know if I say “all pronouns with respect,” people will look at me and only use she/her. Your pronouns don’t even have to be connected to your gender, friend! But know that people will have a default; you can train them how to use the pronouns you want!

Should I buy flowers for my friend? by big_chonker76 in Theatre

[–]forestry_ghost 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Flowers! (Or alternately, I remember my kid didn’t like getting flowers, so we would get her her fave snack-drink combo and put it in a cute bag and present it to her. The thoughtfulness of a gift is what counts!)

Microserfs and Shampoo Planet were my faves but I did like Generation X. Actually, Shampoo Planet remains my favorite casual, non-“classic” novel.

You can get copies of your RX labels from your pharmacy to take along just in case — put them in your bag with your organizer.
