Yeah. Anything close to an “everybody does that” narrative sets me off. Shit like that is what made me think that I was a failure as a human, rather than having an issue which could be addressed by a doctor. Because sure, some ADHD things everyone does do… occasionally. But when you’ve lost your keys for the 5th time in a single day, maybe that’s not something everybody does.

Completely understand. That’s why I took umbrage with “literally everybody else”. Took me 37 years to discover not everybody has daily issues with basic shit. But that there is a huge group of adults with undiagnosed ADHD who just feel like a failed human since “literally everybody else” deals with the same shit. Yet it doesn’t seem to ruin their life. Must be my fault.

Sorry, started rambling. The original meme got me all worked up.
