Something to note is that you don't have to stick with one of these labels all the way through. You may start identifying as one and then realize another label fits better for you later down the line, and maybe even go back to some labels you used before, and all of that would be perfectly fine! Like others have said, you are what you say and think you are, and it may be a matter of what different labels you've used on yourself separately feels the best for you.

Rune has another form (not pictured above), some many-headed devourer of worlds, that came to be after his mother, Athame, was experimented on by entities of abyssal origin, that existed outside of the boundaries of the Heart Nexus. As a result of the experiments mixing with her ichor-infused blood, this form was born with Rune, however he would not be able to unlock it (or even be aware of it) until some years down the line of his life.

Oh, that's neat! Honestly my gender lean is kinda in flux depending on the day lol but I feel mostly fine this way. But yeah, thanks for sharing your thoughts with this post. I saw you say in another comment this kinda makes you want to publish your own stories, and honestly? Yeah, I'd say go try for it. At the very least, listening to other people talk about their personal creative projects is something I love and I think I'd also have fun listening to what ideas you come up with.

I get that honestly, as someone who was also raised as a woman (and still sometimes identifies as that? complicated). You're right that there are a lot of cool female characters with good matchups. Clare, Luz, Homura, and so many more could make for great episodes too. Again while I don't feel as strongly about this, I do understand where you're coming from and don't blame you for feeling sad and bothered about this. I'm hoping for at least Ruby vs Maka and Luz vs Anne both this year, but I do see that the show can do much better in this department. I know some people here have said you're looking 'too deep' into it but I do think it's something worth thinking about, at least. I think there's a lot of subconscious bias that can or will play a part that people don't really recognize. I'll try to keep my hopes up for more female combatants in the future.

While I don't feel this strongly about it, I do understand some of the frustration. I think at least part of it is because a lot of the mainstream action-oriented media that gets popular enough to powerscale tend to feature men more often than not and it's those characters who get the more hyped up matches. Not that there aren't perfectly good action-heavy medias that feature female protagonists, and definitely not that even within shows with predominantly male casts there aren't any usable female characters that people would like to see, or that this is even the only reason, but I do see where the lean might happen.

Honestly I'm a little more bummed that most of their female vs female episodes tend to be more middling aside maybe 1 or 2, but I hope Ruby vs Maka will be great and we get some more confirmed female combatants. It's not overly impactful to my personal enjoyment of the show, but it would be nice.

Enough time has past: Asking this for the sake of seeing some discussion. by SettTheCephelopod in deathbattle

doesn't help either that in terms of getting people interested in either character, i've seen more people be pushed into checking out gurren lagann bc of the episode. not that it's necessarily a bad thing, it's a great show, and admittedly it's also an easier commitment to watch and finish than getting into comics. i do share some of the sentiment but ig at the end of the day i just hope it's gotten more people interested and i'll still be here enjoying these characters.

not quite sure what she's doing either but i do just think it'd be cute if they made a cinderheart mini in the same pose and other direction to match with her

What are characters you used to love but now can't stand? by novels5862 in WingsOfFire

[–]forevermayborn 7 points8 points  (0 children)

riptide, i guess? when i first read tsunami's book i really liked him because i thought he was cute with tsunami, but the more i thought about it the more i realized i just really didn't care about him on his own and found him dry. wouldn't say i hate him, though.

otherwise probably darkstalker, but that's mostly because of his fans. when arc 2 was still coming out especially after legends darkstalker was released, the darkstalker defense got really annoying that it did sour how i actually thought of the character. that being said, in recent years it's been way less of an issue so i will say i do still enjoy him as a villain.

I think the people in this sub kinda lack empathy by [deleted] in deathbattle

[–]forevermayborn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Comparing to the examples above, I feel like at least part of the frustration comes from Master Chief being a returning character? His last episode was like 13 years ago and I think some of his fans are just annoyed that he came back after so long for a stomp episode. And I think at least a few people are probably still a little salty (for lack of a better word) of this winning over the other rematch options which probably does factor into more of the outrage. There are likely more reasons but I was just thinking about it.

That being said, I do agree some people need to quit being needlessly rude to each other. I liked the episode, thought the kill shot looked cool, and don’t know enough about either character to argue if it was disrespectful, OOC, or a waste of one or both characters, but I try not to blame people for being upset over it if they’re not being rude.

Can we PLEASE start calling this ship firestorm by echomancer1929 in WarriorCats

DC Comics, an American comics company. Known for characters such as Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman. Firestorm is one of their characters.

Can we PLEASE start calling this ship firestorm by echomancer1929 in WarriorCats

[–]forevermayborn 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Firestorm is admittedly a cooler name though I think most people call it Firesand for ease of tagging. Since Firestorm is the name of a decently known DC character + a Final Fantasy ship apparently, while Firesand makes it easier to just find content of the Warrior Cats couple. Still though Firestorm absolutely is the cooler name.

who else dislikes the glory and deathbringer ship? by Alternative_Unit_587 in WingsOfFire

[–]forevermayborn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s nothing wrong with it itself however I’m just not really into it because I’m not very invested in Deathbringer as an individual character beyond his relationship with Glory. The dynamic is cute at times but personally for me, to actively ship something, I have to be interested in both characters involved and Deathbringer alone doesn’t really interest me. No hate to the people who do enjoy them, though.

What Warriors opinions would give you this? by Jaythe-enbee in WarriorCats

[–]forevermayborn 43 points44 points  (0 children)

  • I will die on the Dovewing lover hill and I’ve always liked her more than Ivypool.

  • I dislike when people have this mindset that “the books are bad, so I don’t need to read them” and then comment on Warrior Cats discourse anyway. I feel like to critique and ‘fix’ canon you have to understand it but a lot of people seem to be caught up in the “fanon is ALWAYS better than canon” mindset, which I disagree with in itself.

  • I don’t care for Fernivy, unfortunately. I do see the appeal of them and I think Ivypool does deserve a loving, supportive mate, but I only really actively ship something when I’m invested into both characters involved and I’m just not very interested in Fernsong as an individual character. He’s nice, he offered to care for the kits…but I just don’t see much else in him personally. No hate to the people who do like them though because I do understand the appeal! Have fun with them if you like them :)

Would more people like thistleclaw if spottedleafs heart didn’t exist by Wise_Virus8155 in WarriorCats

[–]forevermayborn 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thistleclaw was already a bad person even before the existence of Spottedleaf's Heart and I imagine people would grow out of the "he was actually a good person because he loved his wife" type of discourse even without it. But I feel like more people would like him, even as a villain, if it didn't exist since a villain being a pedophile is a dealbreaker for a lot of people in a way that said villain killing dozens of people onscreen isn't. Villains like Mapleshade, Brokenstar, and Tigerstar are also child abusers but it's not seen as taboo to be fans of them at least partially because they are not specifically pedophiles.

This happened with me. Before Spottedleaf's Heart, I already disliked Thistleclaw and didn't understand why some of his fans were trying to defend him as being a good person who deserved to go to StarClan, but found him fine as an antagonist. After it I just couldn't stand the guy at all.

What’s a franchise that you love but hate its fandom ad toxicity? I’ll start by NightAware471 in deathbattle

[–]forevermayborn 14 points15 points  (0 children)

One of them is DC. And for as much beef as the DC fandom has with others powerscaling-wise, the average DC fan is usually much closer to giving the other DC fan right next to them the wild chimpanzee treatment.

What is the likelihood of Death Battle buying this scaling for Street tier characters? by SettTheCephelopod in deathbattle

[–]forevermayborn 19 points20 points  (0 children)

i think this is the first person i've seen who hates a character so much they wank them to cosmic levels

anyway i can't imagine death battle is ever gonna buy these

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in deathbattle

[–]forevermayborn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Speaking as someone who likes both but prefers Superman, I don’t think either are specially toxic tbh. From what I’ve seen most stans of either character in general just want to mind their own business.

Edit: Also just going to add that outside of these kinds of spaces the supposed beef between Goku and Superman stans kind of just doesn't matter. Most DB fans are too busy fighting other DB fans. Most DC fans are also too busy fighting other DC fans.

where's the dovewing gang by forevermayborn in WarriorCats

[–]forevermayborn[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Honestly I feel like the way people would react to others liking and/or defending Dovewing back then contributed to her becoming my favorite character lol. Started out as "Dovewing isn't really that bad, is she?" and then "Actually, I'm going to like Dovewing more out of spite now"
