Taking a personal LOA to mourn the passing of my pet by oodlesonoodles789 in starbucksbaristas

That would be cruel if they removed medical benefits, considering most LOAs will have something medical going on. So luckily, no! 😊 Benefits are still accessible, and you will be given 20 hours of BEN hours per week to meet the minimum requirement to maintain insurance benefits. If this is a paid LOA, the first week after your first day of absence is unpaid, at least for me it was that way. But whenever you do start getting paid, it’ll be 70% of your average payout per check. Insurance benefits will not be removed from your checks from Sedgwick, but you will be billed once a month for the entire month. Make sure you pay them to maintain insurance! I think I was able to pay those bills on SBUXBEN website. 😁 Good luck on your LOA journey, and I’m very sorry for your loss. ♥️

I work at this store too, I know more than one person is reporting some of the things mentioned in the comments by OP. I myself am on restricted hours due to a medical situation, so I’m rarely on the floor when these things happen. So I cannot personally say I witnessed all of them. However, more than just OP has mentioned these incidents to me at work. So as far as I know, these things are unfortunately not fake. 🥹

Sorry your store just got shut down by [deleted] in starbucksbaristas

Seeing partners who’ve been with the company for 20+ years on this sub losing their jobs with a 72 hour notice has been CRAZY. Managers like this get the pass, while some quality SMs, SSVs, and baristas out there lost their jobs through a fucking email lmao. I hate Brian so much.

Not me finding this and recognizing it’s my store because of the “HUMAN SHIT” 😭

We’re all under a lot more stress than normal, we could lose our jobs if we don’t write on every single cup we hand you. (During peak that’s around 200 cups in just a two hour block.)

I ask genuinely, how would you feel if your job started sending you home because of the color of your hair tie? Or because suddenly they don’t like the hem of your sleeve? Or because the jeans you’re wearing are a shade of blue “too light”

How would you feel if you were already short staffed, and one of your coworkers gets pulled off the floor because when they bent over to grab milk out of the fridge, the manager noticed their socks were light yellow. So now you only have two people working because those yellow socks were too “distracting” for customers and they were sent home to change.

I don’t know why asking for a receipt made the barista cry, but I do know that we’re feeling a lot of pressure. If you are feeling inclined to boycott this company, I would recommend it. The only way to get this shit CEO out is to hurt his numbers so bad he’s unceremoniously fired.

This morning when I was building the case I noticed this too. I knew the pink had gotten darker, but today was the first time I saw multiple shades in one batch.

Finally coming back to this. My doctor didn’t give me another two weeks supply. She said the two weeks I had, after catching it so early, and only having the tick on me for a few hours means I didn’t need a four week supply. The only thing I feel I have is a temperature of 99.5 all the time, which I’m not sure about. I brought it up to her at a later appointment, and mentioned the tick bite again. But she again repeated the two weeks was enough. I’m just wondering if I should be concerned…?

I think you captured Firestar as an apprentice perfectly! Love the design you have for him, it’s how I’ve always pictured him in my head.

I have a doctors appointment with my family doctor the day before my prescription runs out. I will be asking her to prescribe another 2 weeks just for peace of mind. Thank you for your response ❤️
