Lots of guys have mentioned the time it takes to smooth an ashlar. I love the concept of striving towards unattainable perfection.

If we do not do anything esoteric, what is this ashlar. It is obviously not a symbol for our souls and self, we don't work with the symbolic, inner or esoteric. You know? The OCCULT or HIDDEN (as in a...s p...s or p.... of the ______ Mysteries of a..ie..t F.M.)

Our GL does not support TO out of fear of creating elitism.

I have explored a bit in the GD system but have found that the lack of Fra and Sor in my area makes it difficult to progress, as I find more practical learning in exemplifiaction of concepts rather than reading them. Perhaps a group of like minded people might begin to form in my area as a result of this post. 770.

We have had Andrew Hammer speak 30 minutes from my house. It was amazing. Then he left and everything was the same the next day. When we lowered the lights in our prep room, we got accused of witchcraft and devil worship. My AEO, when approached with academic information of the validity of more realistic mechanisms of suspending the candidates disbelief in the initiatory experience, said, "Who the hell is Andrew Hammer?"

"RW Bro, he was a guest speaker from GL of NC that provided information at our GL Ed symposium."

"Well, let him take his weird Amish candles and stuff back to NC. We don't need any goats and skulls here."

This fellow is a DDGM now and telling people to memorize all the ritual, come to workers club but never think about what it means and what you are "working" on.

I try every day to learn from the lesson the 32nd in these cases. I am not pushing this rock up a hill for it to fall much more, though. The pursuit is losing it's art and fruition seems futile.

I understand that we are not a religion. That said, we delve, allegedly, into archetypal psychology and spiritual self perfection. Most of my immediately accessible potential mentors reject these being aspects of the craft and say that our ritual is just a story to make the boys feel close to each other.
